I visited this shop while I was visiting NYC this week. I am a needlepointer and I was not disappointed. First, the shop is expansive and well organized. Lots of canvases and fibers. Second, the care they were showing other customers while I was in blew me away (the customer was elderly and escorted by a family member. The associate helping was gentle and caring while helping her. Even offering her arm to escort her around the shop when the family member stepped out. The associates attention was 100% on this person. This interaction in itself showed the character of the shop to me.) You didn’t feel like just another person passing through. When I asked for help, they didn’t hesitate to help me and they were so nice to answer all my questions. They had super cute baskets for when you wanted to kit something (bespoke and collected over time was the vibe), and more than one “kitchen table” (idk what to call it) where you could set your stuff down to shop or to sit at. I was so happy I made the trip to stop into this shop! When I’m in the city again, I’ll definitely make it a point to...
Read moreReally lovely needlepoint and knitting store with very welcoming staff. (Which isn't always a given when you're a guy into needlepoint). They have a small bathroom for customers, near the needlepoint threads, which is also a plus.
Needlepoint: Very large selection of canvases to peruse, lots of fibers including some more niche ones like Trebizond, ThreadworkX Overdyes, etc. Also good selection of accessories. They've got a few store-made needlepoint stitch books that are inexpensive ($10 each I think?) and have some cool stitches which I really recommend.
Yarn: Nice selection of good quality yarns. I'm not as much into. knitting these days but they've clearly got a good mix of affordable mid-range yarns as well as more fancy yarns, and lots of different colors.
Overall I've always found the store brightly lit, well stocked, and a pleasure to shop at. It's worth the excursion to go visit when you...
Read moreThink Tiffany and Nordstrom when it comes to Annie & Co. You walk in to a dazzling display of the most jeweled colored needlepoint cottons, silks, ribbons its amazing. The same is true for their yarns. The selections are so numerous it is so hard to choose from. Its like going into Tiffany's wanting to buy everything. The canvases are beautiful. It is like a candy store where you want everything. Enough said about the selections the service is phenomenal as if your are in Nordstorms. They are so helpful with selecting pearl or cotton floss to specialty items. They do it because you can see they enjoy what they do and they want to help make your finished products something to treasure. Everyone is smiling and they make the whole experience one of sheer joy. You cannot go wrong with this wonderful place. A special thank you to Beth & Anita for their creative ideas and their...
