Before I get into this review let me say Desiree was amazing and provided excellent service. This one star does not represent her quality of service at all.
I WILL NEVER IN THIS LIFETIME OR NEXT PURCHASE ANYTHING OR ATTEMPT TO BUY SOMETHING ELSE FROM ASHLEY.
We were informed at the last minute that the address of delivery needed a COI. (Certificate of insurance) We had someone by the name of Shanique W. call us and to be honest made no attempt to help us. Yes at the P.O.S I did informed Desiree that a COI was not needed. I admit that . Shanique stated upon her starting work that morning on 8/29 our order was flagged needing a COI but did not call us until after 4pm by then the department that handles that was closed.
She was very dismissive even suggesting from the first call that we can cancel the order because we were upset that we had to now move the delivery date to the following week due to the window of the COI not being requested. We had the management of the delivery location email a copy of the COI to her email, which she received immediately. ( My 64 year old soon to be 65 mother in law rushed to the management office at 4:40pm to get the COI FYI) Shanique then told us after that the process had to be done yesterday on Monday for delivery on Friday.
She went on to say that there was nothing she could do and needed a new delivery date in order to put in a COI on Ashleys behalf and our now delivery date was no longer available even if the COI came back before Friday.( meaning that Ashley had already canceled our delivery)
Not to mention I spoke with Ashley at 9:30 am and they went over the building restrictions noted in the order but never mentioned the order being flagged.
She also had the audacity to give us the option to pick up the furniture from their warehouse in New Jersey even though we were paying to have it delivered. Was she expecting me to put a sofa and love seat in my pocket? All why still while saying (You have the option to cancel if you choose thatās still an option) She didnāt care if we cancelled which means Ashley does not need our Money and Iām completely ok with that.
She definitely needs training on empathy because she lacks it.
The set I was purchasing was a birthday gift for my mother in law and I only tried to work something out because of that.
After about 3 calls I refuse to beg someone to take my money.
This is the second and last time I will attempt to buy anything from them.Both time resulted in me getting my money back.
Now my mother in law is stuck with no furniture for her birthday and her party is now cancelled.
My gut told me to stay out of Ashley and I even said that to Desiree. I said my last experience was horrible at their location further down Flatbush.
Ashley will not get me a third time.
Also Shanique stated SHE will cancel the order and issue the refund only to have to call back 2hours later and she proceeded to give us an excuse on why it wasnāt cancelled then proceeds to cancel it. I recently visited Ashley Furniture to purchase a piece I had been eyeing for a while. When I got to the store, I mentioned that I had found the same item online for a lower price and asked if they could price match. Initially, the staff was unwilling to honor the price match, which was quite frustrating. After some back-and-forth, they finally agreed to match the price. As it was posted all over the store price match guarantee.
However, the experience didnāt improve from there. Once they agreed to the price match, they informed me that there would be additional delivery fees. These fees were excessive and seemed completely unnecessary, especially since the store is relatively close to my home. It felt like they were trying to recoup the price difference through these added charges, which left a sour taste in my mouth. I was being charged a delivery fee okay fine then a feee for them having to break down furniture then a fee in case it didnāt fit in my house. After I told them if they canāt make it fit leave it on the sidewalk Iāll take it in myself. All the extra frees were 500.00.
In the end, I felt that Ashley Furniture was not upfront about their pricing policies and was disappointed by the lack of transparency and customer service. I expected a much better experience and will be considering other options for future furniture purchases.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis review is not about the store. The rep was great. This is about the delivery of the mattress. I received a email/text to confirm delivery between 1:30pm to 5:30pm. I confirmed yes.
Today, my mattress was delivered at 5:30 in the morning. The delivery man was rude and didn't speak English. They just dropped it in my doorway and left.
I called customer service and was told that I was sent a text that changed the time to 6am with a 4 hour window. That is not what I replied to. I only replied to the day of delivery and received a different email with the time. I have a physical disability and had my daughter not been staying with me, I would not have been able to accept delivery. I contacted customer service via email again and they continue to claim that I accepted the change in delivery. If I did, it was unbeknownst to me and besides, who wants delivery at 5:30am when I was still sleeping on the old mattress?!
Thankfully Raymour & Flanigan delivered my bed frame later on and were nice enough to help with the mattress.
This is my first experience with Ashley Furniture and it will be my last. This is the worst level of service I have ever encountered and I DO NOT recommend Ashley Furniture to anyone I know. Go to...
