First I'd like to try and start off on a positive. Your customer service via telephone is the BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE IVE EVER RECEIVED IN MY LIFE! Sooooo polite, friendly, understanding, professional & helpful. A++++++++++++
However, my experience in the Kings Plaza Brooklyn location was the complete opposite. I visited tonight 02/15/20 around 8/8:30pm. It was my first time ever in an Ulta & since I experienced such fantastic CS via phone, I was truly excited to shop in store. NEVER NEVER AGAIN! The store is disorganized, messy & a lot of items not in stock. There was NOT ONE peefume tester bottle with a single drop of perfume in it. There was only one young lady WORKING the floor. She had red hair and seemed very pleasent, but she was very busy with a customer. She was the only person doing there job with the exception of the security guard who tried his best to help me with the very little knowledge he had.
Therr were 3 people at the register. All were too busy talking to even acknowledge anyone there. Now here is the best part. I saw a worker walking towards the register. My boyfriend told me to ask her for help. So I asked her, "I have a question & was wondering if you can help me." She shook her head no and the said rudely " I don't work here." I was embarrassed and told her I'm so sorry, but then watched her walk behind the register & cackle with her other co-workers. Do you have any idea how embarrassed I was???
So I could not test any of the perfumes, so I just chose one. When I was at the register I asked if there was another tester bottle. I used to work at Sephora & we would take out a new one whenever it was empty. The girl said "no, that's a management thing". So I just went through with the purchase because the idea of coming back made me sick.
I had a return that I wanted to apply and she said no because the return by date is 2/11. I took back my invoice and showed her the purchase date was 2/11 & the return by date is 4/11. If I didnt point that out she wouldve let me leave thinking that. She put it through & I paid the difference. Once I got home, I tested it & it stinks & im stuck with it because I never want to go back.
I really hope someone speaks to the employees there because with the horrendous condition of the store, rude employees, lack of stock...this location will never stay in business.

So today I came in to return/exchange something and noticed they had some good deals on perfume so I got a gift set. The cashier Shanicce was extremely rude to me and not helpful at all. I asked her if she could apply the merchandise credit to the current order because I was returning with my receipt and I paid with my CC so usually the $ goes back to the card. She was just annoyed that I had a question and rolled her eyes and said she could do it either way. I said fine just do whatever is easiest for you. Then when I asked about the free gift, I was supposed to receive with my fragrance Purchase & she quickly quickly said to me that she didn’t have any more in stock then a cashier who is standing next to her said yes we do have them. We have two boxes right there so she rolled her eyes and walked over over to get it for me. Last but not least as she was returning or exchanging the item she asked me why I didn’t want them. I told her that I didn’t want the mascara because I got a different one and that the lipgloss that I purchased I thought it was a different color so she tried to mock me and say: The color says right here that it’s clear so I don’t understand why you wouldn’t know what color it was. And normally I would right then and there, had to have stopped and call the manager and walk out, but I really didn’t feel like being a Karen at the moment however, she just left a bad taste in my mouth, so I really had no choice but to come here and put a review on the store because it’s not only this cashier, it’s every single cashier every single time I come in the store. You might as well just put the self check out monitors here because nobody wants to help you unless they’re chasing behind you like you’re going to steal some thing and if you have any questions you get treated like you’re not the one who spending money in the store. Read moreI’m a customer that purchased a flat iron online and was genuinely unhappy with the quality after using it. I was only able to return this item in-store which is the sole reason why I came here in the first place. For some reason, the female associate managing the cashier was treating me like a menace for trying to return an item.
She was being extremely disrespectful to me and it was very apparent that she didn’t like that I had used the item, hated it and tried returning it for a refund. Mind you, this was the only item I was trying to return. While still being rude, the associate proceeds to tell me that the store had to throw out the item because I had used it — clearly insinuating that I was directly responsible for her store’s policy of disposing returned items.
Throughout the entire interaction, she acted like I was the one that was bothering her which I do not understand. The store was vastly empty when I first arrived. I was the only customer waiting in line for an associate to see me since the cashier was unmanned before I unfortunately had the displeasure of being served by her.
I was waiting in front of an empty cashier for what would be considered an unreasonable amount of time since I was the only customer and yet I was able to remain cordial even though she was being abhorrently rude to me. I felt like I was the customer service rep that had to please her. If I knew it was going to go down like this, I would have gone to another Ulta store instead and save us both this...
