Got the wrong haircut by an inattentive barber who weirdly belittled me for not being bilingual.
When you book online you can book a regular haircut or a fade, which costs more. I booked a regular haircut because I didn’t want a fade, yet that’s what I got. The barber showed me pictures of fade haircuts and I said “longer.” Yet I got a fade.
The barber kept stopping to have conversations with random people. Once I’d realized he was giving me the wrong haircut and there was nowhere to go but forward my patience for being there any longer than necessary quickly diminished, and it became very annoying.
I expressed my frustrations, and that’s when things got really strange. He could have just finished and I wouldn’t be writing this review.
The barber had an accent so I assume English is his second language. After discussing our miscommunication and it being obvious I wasn’t happy and told him to just finish and get me out of there, he very calmly and cheerfully asked me “Do you know Spanish?” I said no. Obviously annoyed. Then he asked “what about Italian?” Again, no. “French?” No. “Oh. So just English then?” I didn’t respond. Shortly after he asked if I wanted shampoo after the haircut.
I have to assume he was intentionally insulting me and trying to get under my skin. I can’t think of any other possible explanation for his behavior. Why would he ask me the language questions except to imply that the miscommunication was somehow my fault because I’m not bilingual? And why would he ask if I wanted shampoo after when anyone even remotely socially cognizant would know I wanted to be done with that miserable experience as fast as humanely possible.
Oh, and my 11:00 am haircut appointment...
Read moreHorrible barber. Rude and aggressive owner. Abbreviated story:
Barber, Steven, turns me away from mirror, significantly messes up instruction of clean up existing haircut by buzzing the entire side of my head. When I'm turned around and see it, I say something. Barber calls over the other two barbers (one being the owner). I told them both there is nothing to discuss, that you can't glue it back on. Second barber, who gave me the prior very good haircut, agrees it was not what I asked for. Owner says OK Steven says sorry.
Steven then cuts my hair very short, removes the extra length on one side of my hair for the part. Hair is now completely flat on top and buzzed on the sides like Chris Reid from the movie house party. I tell the barber you know what, please stop, I want to leave. Owner comes over and asks me what my problem is. I tell him no problem, I don't like what the barber is doing, I want to leave. He begins to yell at me and telling me the barber apologized. I told him I'm not asking him for anything, I just want to leave. Owner goes off in me, acting as if I cannot leave. The other barber is telling him to let me leave, I just want to leave. I pay the full amount and leave.
Owner is a bad person. Steven is a horrible, horrible barber. Third barber is very good at what he does and is a reasonable human being. Will...
Read moreWorst barbers experience of my life. Had an appointment with Pasquale the owner, he never showed up. Reading other reviews it sounds like he doesn’t care about his business and does this all the time. Waited 30 minutes after my booking time and then another barber had to step in. Cut my hair aggressively, constantly taking calls or focused on doing other things. Half way through my haircut another customer walks in and the barber that’s currently cutting my hair stops, sits the other guy down and start cutting his hair next to me. Sat there with half a haircut for 5 minutes before a third barber steps in to finish my cut without asking what I wanted. Both of them worked incredibly fast with no attention to detail, haircut took 8 minutes total and cost $60. The most I’ve ever paid for a trim. Avoid &...
