This store has some unique gift items, but I will never go back there—nothing can justify their rudeness and poor customer service. Recently I received, as a present, a pair of wood salad servers purchased at Blue Tree. Before using them, I rinsed them, by hand, in warm water, with a bit of liquid Palmolive detergent, which I applied with a soft sponge. Once they were dry, I noticed that some of the shiny, protective coating had come off. I took them back to Blue Tree and was immediately and repeatedly accused of having put them in the dishwasher, despite my protestations to the contrary. The saleslady finally agreed to give me another pair, saying that she was first going to wash them herself. As she handed them to me, she admonished, “If it happens again, you’re on your own.” I came home and my husband, after noticing that the new pair seemed to be blistering (I hadn’t noticed this in the dim light of the store), washed them again, by hand, in warm water, with a bit of Palmolive, and the varnish came off quite noticeably in patches, just as it had with the first pair (one wonders what would leach into a salad from these servers on contact with vinegar!) The attitude that the customer is always at fault is perhaps common in other countries around the world, but in the United States any self-respecting store stands behind its merchandise. Shame...
Read moreRead the reviews. Are you someone who doesn't check prices? Who really, really, really, really knows who Phoebe Cates is and wants to see her? If so, i would still skip this retail opportunity. I am from NYC, worked at a similar boutique in NYC and never followed anyone around quite like I was. Yes, Phoebe was there, on the phone, but her sole worker stalked me. My mother was blocks away at the hospital and even if I had the 650.00 to buy the articulated sterling silver clown pendant, I wouldn't have, because I wasn't spoken to with a mere hello or small talk, like people actually SHOULD do to to engage. Is this a small shop or a business? I know what I experienced and I won't be back. And yes, these great boutique items are not so unique and can be found 45% off on Amazon with...
Read moreI came to New York on vacation from California to see as much as I could. One must goal was to visit BlueTree. I didn’t get to see Phoebe, but I was lucky enough to see Ivana and Amanda. I bought 2 Chocolate Smiley Face candy things. Do you guys Remember? The front door wouldn’t open to let my daughter and me in and again when we were ready to leave. We had to push the button. It was funny. Amanda had to come to the door to help open it. She said, “we’re still working out the bugs.” I don’t regret not seeing Phoebe, but I do regret not talking to Ivana and Amanda more. You guys are so nice and friendly and I just Froze! I had a lot to talk about, too! I hope I get another chance to get to visit New York. Thank You...
