S Feldman Housewares — Local services in New York

Shop carefully here. I love shopping here. There's a great selection of well edited high end hardware goods. I have purchased dozens of things here over the past couple of months. Sometimes items have been priced a few dollars more than what I could have ordered on Amazon and received in a day or 2. Sometimes items have been priced at exactly what I would have found on the website of the manufacturer (chilewich door mat as one recent example) But today I bought a simple human trash can, thinking it must be reasonably within what I would find on the simple human website, and was very distressed to find when I got home that the $65 I paid at Feldman's could have been received in 2 days for $40 at simple human. I was shocked by this. A few bucks -fine. But this was over the edge. I'll write them and ask how they can justify this kind of pricing. I hope their response will be as classy as...

I appreciate the person-to-person service. After ordering an item online I called to ensure they actually had it in stock. The kind woman (Aretha) walked to the stock room with me still on the phone and pulled it from the shelf for me in order to prepare it for shipping. This was especially helpful because it was the week before Xmas and I had ordered the same item from Williams Sonoma and Crate and Barrel only to receive an email the following day that it was back ordered until late January. I ordered this product from S.Feldman on 12/19 and received it the next day....

Tried to write a review of my purchase but cannot since it's sold out..BUT I loved what I ordered and believe me even though it was corked-backed placements in its own box, it was packed as though it was breakable glass. I am really, really impressed by the care taken to ship this...still waiting for an order placed the same day from Wayfair for something similar!! S.Feldman was delivered (I got free shipping too!!) on Mon. & I placed the order last Thurs.!! Thank you...I will be ordering...
