I first discovered BRAZIL BRONZE SOHO by accident. I was in school and I saw a friend I hadn't seen over the long weekend. When I saw her she had a glowy fresh tan. I asked her immediately whether she flew to Florida or LA over the weekend. She shook her head and smiled. "Spray tan" she said. No way! Her tan was way too authentic to be a spray tan. She told me the name of the place. Graduation was around the corner, so I booked my appointment.
When I arrived, I was nervous. I had only gotten a spray tan once before, and I came out looking like an Oompa Loompa and was constantly compared to the color of an orange by my friends for 2 weeks. And any other friend that had gotten a spray tan, (beside the one that recommended this place) LOOKED like they got a spray tan.
I went for the receptionist who greeted me with a smile. I told her my name and she nodded and told me to have a seat for a few minutes. She then brought water over to me-- by the time I finished my cup they called me in.
The young woman showed me the color chart and asked me how dark I wanted to go. I have fair skin and I didn't just come back from a week on a tropical island, so I figured the lightest one would be perfect. She agreed. I changed out of my clothes and into a cloth thong (there's an option to go completely nude, but I wanted to have a tan line!) She came in and explained the process to me. I felt very comfortable and understood everything that was going on. Any question I had was answered without hesitation. The spray tanning part took 10 minutes (max) and the drying part in the next room over took 10 minutes. My tan was obvious and I was excited!
The tan takes a few hours to fully develop, so I wasn't as dark as I hoped to be when I left (albeit I was I was no longer a see-through ghost!)
They recommend you come in what you're going to wear to sleep, and they also recommend to not shower or sweat for 12 hours. I followed both of those rules! When I woke up I was DARK. Like very dark. I was told that when I shower, there will be brown dripping off of me and when I get out it will reveal my real tan. Boy was I HAPPY. I didn't look like a generic spray tan! I looked REAL TAN!!! I almost couldn't believe how real it looked. Even my friends who I told I was getting a spray tan to were shocked when they saw me on graduation day.
BRAZIL BRONZE SOHO changed my perception of what a spray tan should look like. Once you go there, there's no going anywhere else!!! Get the LA tan without...
Read moreHighly highly highly recommended. I decided to get my first-ever spray tan before a trip to Vegas because I knew I would be hanging out by the pool and didn't want my weird tan lines from my previous trips to show. I was nervous not only about the aftercare but also about the appointment, however once I came to the salon all my concerns were gone. The spray tan I received at Brazil bronze Soho was absolutely amazing and I could not have wished for anything better. When I arrived I asked my tan technician what color she recommended to look tan yet natural, but also a color that wouldn't fade weird and show marks in case I ended up going swimming in the pool more than intended. After looking at my skin tone and hair color she recommended light to medium -becsuse she said it would give me the appearance I've been away on a week or weekend trip already. I went fully nude for the tan and didn't feel uncomfortable once, despite how personal the other person needs to get in order to reach all the spots. I was so happy with how professional my tan technician was and how perfect my tan turned out. I chose to do my tan in the morning so that I wouldn't be sleeping with it on and possibly stain my sheets. Although not recommended I did take the subway home, however thankfully I got no sweat marks from the drying process. I'm also super happy that despite going swimming a few days into my tan I didn't get any weird splotchy marks as it faded or wore off. I also found that although excessive face washing obviously diminishes the tan in that area first, the spray tan on my legs lasted nearly the entire week which is the part that is the hardest to tan on vacation so I'm happy that I didn't have to be pale in that area for any photos. I am absolutely satisfied and happy with how my tan turned out, all of my friends who I went on the trip with also commented how nice of a glow it gave me and how it didn't look fake at all. I will definitely be returning to this salon before all future events, weekend trips and vacations. Especially since I found the tan also gave me a nice slimming vibe and made me look great for all my vacation pictures .
** I've attached 3 photos. In the collage you can see me with the spray and tan and without. As well as I attached a photo of my naturally tan after my vacation, just as a comparison to how real the spray tan looks to my actual summer tan. Lastly, one of me a few days into the...
Read moreI had many orange spray tans after I moved to NYC until I found Brazil Bronze in soho. I saw them on Gilt and thought I would give it a try and have not gone anywhere but there since! The staff there are very nice and professional! They have tons of appointment slots including early in the day and late evening so no matter what my work schedule is I am able to get there before any event! I have gotten spray tans there before weddings and beach weekends and have never once had a streak or any unnatural looking color! Because it is a hand done spray tan they really can control the color and listen to the customer about exactly what they want. The spray tan also last really well (even during a Vegas weekend when I was in the pool) and fades really naturally. Im on the emailing list and they frequently have great deals and packages available. I am definitely a loyal Brazil bronze customer and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a...
