Cool setting for tennis courts, right under the bridge and by the river. 12 courts so usually ok to get a court without waiting too long (waited 30 mins on a beautiful weekend afternoon). Can’t give 5 stars because 1) Courts are cracked in many spots and overall not in great shape 2) locked up at 7pm??? Over the summer too when it’s still light out for another hour and a half. As far as I can tell, the attendant is there from 6am to 3:30 ish on weekends. When the attendant is there you need to sign up with them and show your permit. When the attendant leaves around 3:30, a sign up sheet goes out for 4:00 onwards. First come first served.

Living across the street from it and millions have been invested what's missing are the full grown trees but new ines are in place so in due time .Right now the park is beautiful. Looks a little like it did in 1939.

The courts here are beautiful - there’s 6 and you usually can get a spot pretty easily. I think they’ll fill up more once the construction is done but they’ve been great this summer.

I booked a court for 5-6pm by writing my name into an empty slot. When I went to the court at 5pm, I was told by a guy that he “always has this court from 4-6pm” so I couldn’t have the court. Despite his name not being on the sign in sheet.

What’s the point in having a sign in sheet and reservation system if people don’t sign up - and then sit on a court preventing you from playing on it?

There’s no staff here. I tried to call the telephone number multiple times but no one picks up. Absolutely useless.

NYC Parks - what are we paying our $100...

The courts are badly maintained, they are hard courts and even though they were resurfaced a couple of years ago, the work was incredibly shoddy. The cement is cracked and comes off. And don't get me started on the nets. Central Park is not. And the wind screens are pitiful, they were up at the beginning of last season and then more than half were taken down to never return, much needed as is a very windy place,...
