Read moreI don't generally shop here, at all: most of the staff are very rude and the managers won't give full refunds on their often spoiled food. And it's FILTHY there! The store is messy, crowded, w/ old over-priced veggies...Beware spoiled food... Milk, for example, is sour tasting,...so they delete from refund the 1/3 cup of milk I did not swallow because it's sour! Worse: Chicken I once bought here was gray-colored; I discovered this discoloration hidden on the plastic tray side of item...and was told by manager to get more chicken from butcher to replace it, or ask the butcher for a refund! Same managers, + practices, still there... So, now I may ventire in every 4 months or so solely for a canned item or detergents, etc. Today when I asked manager when they may get more of on sale canned sale item in, he had no answer, so instead began advising me how much of the item I need to buy. He somehow knows how often + how much coffee I (and any family/guests) drink daily! He has magical powers to foresee what I need to buy! LOL! 100% foolish... I have seen cooking oil and broken glass left on floor...workers laughed as I sliped on spilt liquid puddle left on floor...! And they used to illegally overcharge on milk. I informed them of this, but they ignored me, and kept doing it, 'til some gov't. inspectors finally caught them, and fined them! Finally, it's so unprofessional in here, I look forward to it hopefully closing one day, + being replaced by a decent store. Something...
Read moreI give this place 1 star because of the cashiers. I've lived in the Bronx for 42 years, and the employees of the supermarkets in that borough are actually friendlier than here.
They seriously need to change management and re-train the employees. Customer service is nil, and the workers can be compared to the Walking Dead.
Guess they're sorry to have jobs at all. Must prefer being on welfare and sitting all day job hunting at an over-crowded.Back-to-Work holding pen.
Don't bother saying "thank you" to them. Treat them as they treat you: that they're not human beings and don't count. It's attitudes like these that can cause a place to run out of business. Only reason why it hasn't is because people are too lazy these days to walk somewhere else (and also too weak to make any complaints. They'll put up with anything as long as it's not white people running a place). It's like an over-sized bodega.
Fine Fare is too over-priced for this garbage. That's why I go someplace else unless there are good sales. And that's hardly ever. You can renovate a building, but you can't renovate jackasses.
UPDATE: Be wary of some floor workers following customers around, even though the store has cameras. They try to single out certain people they think they can get over on. They won't meet your eyes when you glare at them.
My husband and I will no longer be going here. We don't need to waste our money for that kind of treatment.
So long, low...
