Building Blocks of Greenpoint — Local services in New York

Our son has attended Building Blocks for 1.5 years, since he was 14 months old, and I cannot recommend the center more highly. We have found the teachers, for both infants and toddlers, to be incredibly supportive of his development at each stage. We also utilize the late stay option and have had a great experience with the supplemental activities — music, yoga, soccer, Spanish, for example — and liked that this part of the day was often with teachers from other rooms and kids from different classrooms and of other ages. A true lifesaver for working NYC parents is that they provide all snacks and lunches and everything is to my high standards of quality and healthfulness. Everyone is so happy there (almost no teacher turnover from what I can tell), which was immediately apparent to me from my first visit. The administrative staff is incredibly responsive and similarly supportive. We appreciate the organized, clear, and frequent communications. It truly feels like a family as the staff supports parent/family connections and for each classroom, we have had a WhatsApp chat with parents to organize meet ups, with and without our kids. My daughter has been going to Building Blocks since May of this year. It was her first experience with Day Care/Nursery School, and we couldn't be happier. She absolutely loves going to school, and has a great time there everyday. The teachers are fantastic, and the communication from the faculty is incredible. They have an app where we receive photos and updates throughout the day. We are thrilled with the activities she does with her class, and we have seen marked growth in her letter recognition and her social skills. She gets plenty of mental and physical stimulation every day. Furthermore, she eats better than we do! The lunches and snacks they provide are all organic and top notch.

As some of the other reviewers have mentioned, the facilities are clean, modern, and well kept. Transmitter park is right around the corner, and the children get to go on excursions daily (weather permitting). I cannot recommend Building Blocks enough. I want to start by saying that I enrolled my daughter into this daycare upon recommendation of a friend. Being a Park Slope parent, this daycare was slightly out of my way but I decided to give it a go for the benefit of my child. I cannot say enough good things about this place. First of all, they are a brand new facility, but not new to the childcare industry( the owners are both teachers who have successfully opened their second location). Second of all, the daycare is super clean, very spacious and very well managed. The educational director is always present and quick to respond to parent inquiries and concerns. Third of all the teachers are super qualified and professional. My daughter LOVES school and as a parent that’s enough for me to know I’ve made the right decision.
