C & C Hair Salon — Local services in New York

I’d been passing by this salon for years, on my way to the post office. My hair salon was a super expensive one on UES, on Madison Avenue. They did a great job but it was incredibly expensive. One day, passing by C&C, I decided to take a chance. I went in and told Zengiz if he can give me the same cut and color as the fancy salon I was going to, I’ll be a lifetime customer! He did and I’ve never gone anywhere else for my hair. He is truly amazing. I get compliments all the time for my cut and color. And I don’t have the best hair in the world. So he must be great at his job to be able to make a hair like mine look beautiful. If you’re looking for a fancy salon, go somewhere else. This place is a gem! After moving to NYC a few years ago, I had been searching a hair salon that I can trust but all places I tried (from high end with 5 star reviews to Groupon finds) failed my expectations. Since I’ve discovered C&C about a year ago, I have been recommending it to all my friends! They’re very friendly and professional, the prices are affordable, and my hair is exactly like how I wanted. I went because I heard they did $40 wash and cut but wasn’t super happy with my experience. First off I was charged $70+tip (the hair stylist styled my hair which I didn’t know was extra/I didn’t ask for, I should’ve been more clear from the start) and I didn’t realize how bad the cut was until I washed and styled it at home. The stylist did a good job with the blowout but it hid how poorly the layers were done. It was super choppy and didn’t blend well. I ended up going to my colorist who does my balayage and he fixed the haircut by feathering/smoothing out the edges so I’m happy with my hair now but frustrated that I paid $80 for a cut at C&C, only to pay a different stylist another...
