One of the most beautiful Catholic churches ⛪ you will ever see both literally & figuratively, on the Upper East Side of Manhattan on Park Avenue & 84th street in NYC. On the steps the Grand doors open in the front of the Cathedral to a warm welcoming by the beauty of a good-hearted soul ❤️ welcoming you to join in the Ignatius way of prayer. The Cathedral is one of the largest & most beautiful you will find. The sound of the large Organ pipes vibrate through the church and enlighten. The churches choir is one of the best I have Ever herd, with many prominent singers & dance artists. Every week my family enjoy the walk across the park to join in the Mass at the church. There is a more formal mass upstairs in the main cathedral and in the basement there is a more less formal mass for all to join. The basement mass is Great for families with little kids that want to make a little noise or need to get up and get out some jitters & maybe run around the room a bit. The basement also has a Great 👍 band usually & choir. The basement is very large and has a kitchen as well if you need to store 🥛 & food. There is also refreshments like coffee & cookies 🍪 or something after mass served with a social presence with your fellow friends & family of the church in the basement One ☝️ thing issue or con is there is not a handicap wheel chair entrance at the front of the church. At least not yet in 2019 but I believe that the Parish is working on...
Read moreSt. Ignatius Loyola Church is not a very good venue for this group. First of all, it is a church. There is no space for a waiting audience. It is necessary to wait outside in the cold and then to be packed into the tiny vestibule leading into the church. Second, the church did not organize entry very well. Only after the crowd entered the vestibule did they try to make a line leading into the church. By then the vestibule was packed and the waiting audience couldn't move. Third, the church is COLD! The music is beautiful and but the sound in the church gets lost. Into the bargain it is necessary to keep your coat on during the performance. I went to see Chanticleer when they performed at The Metropolitan Museum and at St. Ignatius. The Metropolitan Museum was by far the more hospitable venue. It is a shame that such a wonderful singing group is presented in such a cold, inhospitable venue as...
Read moreI have always had a great experience every time I have attended this church. It ismy church if choice when I visit the city. The church is beautiful and the Mass times are very convenient. My last visit was on Christmas Eve and the quality of the choir, organ and additional musicians made me feel as though I had been listening to a choir from Heaven. I have never heard a better choir performance anywhere. The music was awesome! The singing and organ play have always been great when I have attended the Mass on Sundays, when I have visited there. I highly recommend this church to those who live in the area or are...
