This station is a dump. Be careful. The turnstiles have been taking the money from metro cards but not letting people go through. As you keep trying, it goes to insufficient funds. Happened to me yesterday and this morning. Yesterday, when I went to the machine to add more money (after being robbed what I had), it wouldn’t take Visa or Amex or cash. Then it kept my card inside and it wouldn’t spit it out. The guy who works there in the morning is useless and a jerk. He sits behind the glass and doesn’t want to be bothered. He doesn’t want to hear it. So yesterday I had to buy a new card and added $10. Used it twice yesterday ($5.80 total used). This morning when I tried using it it wouldn’t let me go through, then it gave me the message “insufficient funds”, JUST LIKE YESTERDAY! The turnstiles here are taking the money but not letting you through. Forcing you to add money and even keeping your card at the money machines so you have to buy a new one. ITS A DISASTER! Plus there’s no need for the clown behind the glass....

On the Lextington IRT transit lines, to get off at this station you must board any of either the four, five, or local six train lines. I would suggest the 4 or 5 trains especially during peak hours. When boarding AT this station, please take note that the entrances to go uptown and downtown are across the street from one and another, and do not have a connected access point, so if you acxidently swipe going downtown, your going to need to pay another separate fair if you have to exit and re swipe going uptown(using...

How do I put this. It's an old subway station. It's dark, hot smelly and is just generally unpleasant. However, It services the 4,5, and 6 so there is usually and uptown or downtown train within 3 minutes of you getting there, which is pretty good. It is only 1 stop from Harlem, 2 stops from grand central, and 10 stops from Atlantic Terminal. All in all, it may not be as nice as it's next door neighbour on the Q, but the service is...
