This Station on Google Maps is horrible. There is an uptown entrance to catch uptown trains only. To catch a downtown train, you must exit the station, cross 7th Avenue and enter the downtown Station entrance. If you enter the uptown Station entrance but want to go downtown, cross the street as previously described but yiu will have to pay a new fare to enter the Station. Either that or stay in your original incorrect Station entrance and travel to 14th Street and cross over to the downtown side for free by walking upstairs and over to the other platform. If yiu are not familiar with NYC subways, the 1 train lines are horribly configured this way. On Google Maps, there is only one Station entrance listed as if you can go uptown and downtown from it but it is the downtown station entrance. This station is horribly non ADA compliant and imagine a wheelchair ♿️ bound customer having someone assist them onto the downtown station entrance to realize they really need to go uptown. The uptown Station entrance says Uptown and The Bronx. It should say uptown and the Bronx only. Cross 7th Avenue for trains to downtown and Brooklyn at the Downtown...
Read moreCommuters, travelers, tourists, rely on MTA daily! I’m not a frequent traveler in the city, in fact if I am within the 5 boroughs, I usually drive. I brought my niece to the city. I chose to take a train to Grand Central Station when we were ready to go home. I attempted to purchase our fare at what was once the token booth clerk. WRONG MOVE!! Then I asked a simple question in a polite manner. And the black man gave me attitude, turned off the microphone, and did not want to be bothered. The rude behavior I received was unwarranted! No matter how well mannered/polite you are, someone somewhere will remind you how miserable they are! MTA, what is the purpose of having agents/clerks in the token booth if they don’t provide the commuters any assistance? This occurred 06/25/23 a little...
Read moreChristopher Street - Sheridan Square is situated in the Lower West Side. It is served by the 1 train at all times, the 2 train during nights and disruptions, and the 3 during disruptions. Christopher Street is conveniently located near New York University. The station is in an area known for its LGBTQ history I believe. The booth agent is friendly and the area is cool. There is no problem with this station that I can state so it has the...
