Chrome Hearts — Local services in New York

A perfect place to go if you want your day ruined.

I just came in today with a friend, wanting to buy a ring or at least start the process toward buying one. I’m aware that the rings are hard to get and that you can’t just buy the one you want immediately.

My issue, though, is with the service. This store is as small as a bathroom, there were 3 people working here, and I could tell the second we walked in that this was not going to be a friendly experience.

I asked about specific rings (I did research on what I like before coming) and one guy pointed to the glass case. “What we have is all on display.” I’m a size 11 and I asked if any of the rings available were around that size, and the guy just shook his head. OK, got it. So I asked: Should I go to the downtown store? The guy rolled his eyes and said “I don’t know anything about what stock the downtown store has.”

So I asked if it would make sense for me to come back periodically — showing I’m more than willing to wait. He shrugged and said, “It’s a worldwide treasure hunt.” Then he just stopped communicating and stood there, blankly. It was almost laughably awkward.

Again, I know the drill with Chrome Hearts’ scarcity, but it’s hard to explain just how disinterested the staff was in even speaking to me and my friend or engaging with us.

My recommendation is to avoid this store — and possibly this brand — unless you have some sort of inside connection. It’s very hot now, but when it’s no longer as popular as it is now, they will probably wish they...

I’m a younger man, it felt like the person on the floor at the time(45 year old woman with an accent) didn’t want me in there not knowing anything about me. It was a weird environment coming from someone working at the smallest chrome hearts store. Had some questions where I sensed some arrogance in her response, but I just wanted a pendant. I asked how much for one of the only pendants they had, a very small cross with one diamond, I asked the price and she said 11k without checking, I know for a fact it wasn’t anywhere near 11k. I just walked away and left, such an odd person either didn’t know her stock or just wanted me to leave for whatever...

Shout out to Jansen for being one of the most personable sales associates that helped me make my first CH purchase. Working with him, I felt no pressure held over any purchase nor any snobbery in his regard. Also, his transparency and ability share small-talk breaks the social barrier that can comes along with the high-end retail experience. I highly recommend him for any purchases.
