I recently visited the kids' store at 878 Madison Ave, which isnāt even pinned on Google Mapsāperhaps reflecting their poor customer service.
A month ago, I was searching for a sweater and reached out to the online team. They tried to order it for me, but after delays on their end, the item went out of stock. They suggested I contact the store directly. When I called the store, a representative confirmed the sweater was in stock but refused to put it on hold, insisting they had plenty in my size. Despite explaining that I couldnāt visit until the following day, I was assured the sweater would still be available.
However, when I arrived, the staff rudely informed me that āif the item wasnāt on hold, itās out of stock.ā I explained the situation but was treated dismissively, as if I were in a luxury boutique searching for an exclusive item.
While I was in the store, I called the online team and waited for nearly an hour. During this time, another customer came in and asked for the same sweater in the same size. The staff initially said it was out of stock. However, they then distracted me by asking me to try on a sample sweater. By the time I came out of the fitting room, the other customer had miraculously been given the sweater and had already purchased it. Is this discriminatory treatment based on skin color?
I escalated the matter to a few supervisors, who promised to involve store leadership. An assistant manager named Anderson eventually called me but was dismissive and unhelpful. He claimed he would get back to me that day, which didnāt happen. A month later, he finally called and falsely stated he couldnāt locate the item, denied I had spoken to anyone over the phone, and implied I was mistaken.
Is this truly the level of service your company deems acceptable, especially during the busy holiday season? This experience has ruined my holiday.
I have since filed official complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the Consumer Bureau in New York. I am committed to holding your store accountable for its lies and terrible service. Iāve also returned all my online orders and will not be spending another penny with you.
Customers deserve better, and your fake smiles and dismissive attitudes wonāt...

I asked for the boxes. The salesperson dissapeared downstairs for 20 minutes before coming back with the clothes packed in the boxes. It seems she forgot to check as well if socks in a particular size were available as her colleague asked her to do so despite she was busy packing. There were 4 employees in the shop however and we were only 2 customers . I mentioned to the cashier that we needed to go after 15 minutes and it was ok if boxes were provided on the side and the clothes not packed. She replied to me that she had to stay as a cashier and could not do anything for me neither reach out her colleague.
