This is one of the worst supermarkets now! They changed EVERYTHING!! They did renovations and everything looks great but nothing has changed as far as the products! The pack of strawberries is 6.99 and it is rotted! When I asked the manager if he can give me some type of deal being that they were already expired his response was no somebody else would buy it. He barely spoke English so I don’t even think he understood what I was saying! And his attitude was horrible I believe his name was Manuel! I don’t know who he thinks he is the way he was talking to me was terrible! Like if I was below him and he was the king of the supermarket! I don’t know why they got rid of all the other employees that worked there, they were very nice and very helpful and they spoke English which is very important if you’re running a business! None of the cashiers speak English and it is very frustrating because they overcharge you for things and when you’re trying to explain to them that they overcharged you it takes about 20 minutes for them to find someone to translate for you! The company has killed the entire vibe of the store by getting rid of the people who worked there previously! It used to be a very family oriented place before and the experience was very enjoyable! The old manager Bryan always knew what he was doing and never had a hard time helping people! He was very attentive and very hard working!! Rossy who I believe was the manager as well was very nice to people and very helpful!!! I miss her very much!!!! All the cashiers who previously worked there were amazing!!! They all were very friendly and very helpful!!! And they all spoke english!!! They all knew what they were doing and rarely made mistakes!!! These new people are terrible!!!! They all have an attitude like they do not want to be there and they treat people very bad!!! All the meat is expired!! And discolored! Products on the shelves are expired as well! Then they put items on the top shelf all the way up towards the ceiling and you can barely reach them, you have to look around to see if there’s a milk crate on the floor that you can stand on to reach what you need because when you ask someone in the line for help they roll their eyes and walk away from you and say No English! There are like five people in charge and all of them have disgusting attitudes very unhelpful! When you ask them for something they say to give them a few minutes because they are busy! Also they have a lotto machine but every time you try to play they say that it is closed! One time I had inquired about playing my number and they denied me and said that the lottery was closed but when I walked around the supermarket and walked back towards the front I saw that they were playing a Spanish ladies number so is it like a racial thing? Because I am dark skin did they think that I was black? Because I asked to play lotto and they told me it was closed and five minutes later when I walked past they were playing numbers for a older light skin Spanish woman!! If they do not like to play lotto they should just take the machine out of the store because there have been several complaints about that!!! I wish that I can speak to a higher person like maybe the owner or someone I’m going to inquire about that now because something has to change in that place! It is...
Read moreOne star is too high of a rating I wish I could give it zero stars. This supermarket is terrible in many ways. They have a “ security guard” that acts like he wants to beat up the customers which is crazy in itself and a shame. The staff that they had approximately 1-2 years ago was way better than the current staff which all look miserable and mean mug you. The morning shift manager has the worst attitude you could ever want that early in the morning . She was the deciding factor as to why I don’t shop there anymore. If your not Latino/ Latina they will talk about you directly in your face in Spanish. I have witnessed and have had to also speak my native tongue to let them know that what they were doing was wrong. The night manager is also someone who likes to talk under his breath about customers, for the most part the entire staff makes it unwelcoming to shop there. The store upgrades that invested in was too little too late, the supermarkets that they compete with in a 2 block radius all for the most part have better customer service and you don’t leave those supermarkets feeling like your about to get into a fight with someone. The only thing pleasant I can say is that there a African American employee in the morning who is the most pleasant and nice worker in a store filled with prejudice and angry workers. How she survives in that store is an amazement to me . I have nothing good to say about this place and I’m happy that I started doing my local shopping...
Read moreReally love this new supermarket , as a long time east Harlem resident of 62 years, I can honestly say this is by far the most well organized clean supermarket. ,with such a variety of foods to choose from.
They have a great cafe and smoothy spot, with a choice of cooked meals that are ready to eat in their little place inside where they have small tables and chairs where anyone can sit and have a small meal away from the hustle and bustle of the day.
The wonderful part is that this is the only supermarket in the entire east Harlem area that is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week , so folks, you can do your shopping any time any day. even for night owls. How cool is that?
I have shopped at the regular supermarkets in this neighborhood they are old and dingy , don't want to speak worryingly of the other supermarkets but I have to be honest , 105 street 3rd ave supermarket 110 street Lexington and Madison ave supermarket on 114 street are kind of dingy nothing new.same old products.
I now do my shopping at city market fresh , one of the mangers was extremely helpful assisted me packing my groceries. so grateful for a new place to shop. I understand a few and a few may have negative experiences but coming from a 62 year old i bet you can't find a more cleaner place to...
