The Syrian store in Williamsburg is absolutely amazing. The moment you walk in, you’re surrounded by stunning, handcrafted tapestries that reflect the richness of Syrian culture and tradition. Each piece feels like a work of art, with beautiful colors and textures that truly stand out.
What makes the experience even more special are the weaving classes they offer. They’re hands-on, beginner-friendly, and a wonderful way to learn the traditional techniques behind Syrian tapestry making. The instructors are welcoming and knowledgeable, and the whole atmosphere is creative, calming, and inspiring.
A huge shoutout to Aldo, who is an incredible store associate—friendly, helpful, and passionate about the art and culture the store represents. He made the visit even more enjoyable.
Whether you’re looking to buy something unique or try your hand at a new skill, this place is a true gem....

In the midst of these "it's giving corporate" storefronts that want you to hand over a bag of cash for something mediocre and forgettable, Creative Minds provided a genuine, handcrafted, and very personable shopping experience, leaving me with a rug that caught my eye from the first time I entered. They made hunting for a one-of-a-kind, handmade item very pleasurable and it was priced very fairly.
NYC needs more craft focused and independent stores like this! I'm tired of the Crate and Barrel wanna be's and insanely priced vintage / curated furniture stores. Looking forward to signing up for a weaving class or two and seeing how the space develops in the future. I would highly recommend...
Read moreThis is the FIRST review I’ve ever left on Google and I’m so glad that it’s for this shop. I drove by Creative Minds during an errands run and had to spin the block. This store is just gorgeous - as soon as I entered, I felt transported back to Morocco, Mexico…and every other textile market I’ve visited around the world. Aldo (one of the owners) was in during my visit, he’s very personable and engaging, even gave me a tour of the weaving studio downstairs. It’s a really beautiful place, they’ve been open for just about a month and I’ll definitely be back to support and take one of their weeknight classes. Make some time to visit this store,...
