Just went there this past weekend and easily the most enjoyable shop in New York I visited. First thing when you walk in after being drawn in by the amazing array of products in the window display is a welcoming smile and a "If you have any questions please feel free to ask." I felt more at home and welcome at this store than any other. They have a HUGE variety of any type of Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Magic, and so many other cards, as well as collector items from your favorite shows (I got an SAO playing cards deck). The owner actually makes you feel at home and you're not nervous to ask questions and he's very kind with a big smile and warm personality. And if you can't find what you want or they are sold out, he gives you his personal business card and encourages you to call him or email him requesting what you need and you can buy it with PayPal. Overall again best store out of overall experience in New York City with a flashy window display, a welcoming and kind owner, and products you can find almost nowhere else that makes this store a must stop by for anyone interested in card collecting, toy collecting, or just want to...
Read moreIt’s a great place with a pretty decent selection of kits and models. Owner is helpful and knows just about everything in his store. What more, he’s a smooth talker. That’s why he could get away with the prices in his store. The prices are anywhere between $10-$40 higher than what is sold online. Mind you, those site also bumped their prices because everything is shipped from japan, but the price is only $5~8 more than what it is sold for in japan. The HG 1/144 models in the store sold for close to $30, whereas typical HG 1/144 kits sell for $15-$20. Only time I ever see HG selling even close to $30 online if it is a high detail HG (such as the Destiny Gundam or the Age-2 Magnum). Another example on how overpriced the store is, RG 1/144 Crossbone Gundam is selling for $55 at their store. Stores online are selling it for $25-$35. Even the shipping is worth it if it means saving $15. Visit sites like gundamplanet or usagundamstore if you want to buy kits. They have so many more varieties for a fair price, and they charge only $9.95 for shipping(USAgundam charges shipping on weight). I guarantee you that you will...
Read moreDashop is a family-ran business specializing in trading card games and model kits in the heart of NYC's Chinatown. I have been coming here ever since I was a young child, and have bought thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from them, and they have never disappointed.
The staff are really friendly, and are knowledgeable about all the games and stuff they contain in the store, knowing future release dates as well as their inventory like the back of their hand.
The inventory they carry is insane for the shop size. The whole front of the store is dedicated to trading card games, ranging from Weiss Schwarz, Yugioh, Pokemon, Vanguard, One Piece, and other card games as well. They have counters with singles as well as other TCG merchandise, as well as binders to flip through.
The back of the store contains most of the model kits, with a large collection being related to Gundam, but other series like Mazinger and Macross are found here as well.
The prices are affordable and reasonable, with some stuff being priced lower than the market value.
Overall, a great hobby shop to check out whenever you are...
