Disclaimer: this is for management. Not the hair dressers. I loved Linda. Even though she didnāt do what I asked for, I came back and she was so fast and accommodating and gave me beautiful hair.
This is for management.
So, read above. Linda didnāt do what I asked for. As much as I loved her and as beautiful of a job as she did do, thatās the fact. It was completely off. I came back and asked for it to be redone in the way I originally wanted. Apparently they did a single process color plus haircut (which I did want) and the result was absolutely not what I asked for. They said theyād do it and reduce the price of a balayage theyād do instead, for my troubles. I said ok and explicitly wanted confirmation that I would be charged ONLY for the balayage and haircut, not the previous single process. Two people gave me verbal confirmation.
I check my bank statement and have both charges sitting there. Mind you, Iām a student and cannot afford an almost $600 salon job. I figure itās just a mistake so i call back, ready for a quick āwhoops!ā And removal.
Thatās not what I got. The manager decided to fight me on this with extremely poor attitude, saying she was told I came in for extra which is why I was charged. After a frustrating back and forth, she finally refunded me. But the fact that I almost had to CONVINCE her to refund me was absolutely ridiculous. And her tone was awful. Speaking to me as if I was in the wrong.
Poor communication at your place of business should not result in over-charging your customers. Especially when itās your fault I had to come back because your hair dressers canāt follow instructions. I do love Linda she is so sweet, but Iām never coming back...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreāāāāā I wanted to share some honest feedback about my recent visit. Iāve been following this salon on Instagram and TikTok for a long time, and I was genuinely excited to finally book an appointment. Unfortunately, the experience left me feeling disappointed and uncomfortable ā not because they couldnāt do my hair, but because of how the situation was handled.
I understood completely that my hair wasnāt suitable for a lighter balayage due to past box color use. I appreciated the explanation, but what caught me off guard was the attitude and behavior of the staff.
Gabby (the receptionist) told me I would need to wait āfive yearsā to get lighter hair. She also said something along the lines of, if I really wanted to go lighter, Iād have to shave my head and grow it out again ā which I understand wasnāt meant literally, but it felt discouraging and extreme. When another staff member, Melba, laughed at the comment, Gabby just shrugged and said, āIām just being honest.ā I understand the need for honesty, but the way it was said came off as dismissive and made me feel judged.
The stylist, Cecy, also came off cold and unwelcoming. She didnāt smile, and when she tested my hair, she shook her head and pouted like it was hopeless. She later suggested a darker balayage option that looked very close to my current hair and said it would still cost $715, which didnāt feel fair or helpful.
I ended up just getting a haircut and blowout ā and Iāll say the haircut turned out nice. But overall, I left feeling discouraged and disappointed. I truly admired this salon and expected a more respectful,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreRue did such an amazing job on my balayage last week! She really paid attention to the details and listened to exactly what I wanted. I showed her a photo from this salons instagram of the look/color I was going for, and she matched it perfectly. She recommended that I should blend everything (my dark roots) with a root melt (extra 55) and it made such a difference! The color flows so seamlessly and nothing looks too harsh or jarring, especially since I wanted to go as light as possible without the upkeep or maintenance of doing a full head bleach.
Rue and her team were super gentle the whole time, especially during the bleaching and wash. When they brushed my hair out, I barely felt anything. Iāve had appointments at other places where it was painful getting my hair brushed after shampooing, but this was the opposite.
I really love the money pieces she did, and the way she toned and styled everything. I have more hair than she expected so we ended up going over time, but she still made it work. She gave me her full attention throughout the 5+ hour appointment. She cared about making sure everything was right. I had mentioned my side bangs and the specific way I wanted my hair to be cut early on, and she remembered and made sure to cut my hair exactly how I like it!
I also reached out to Rue via instagram with a couple of questions afterwards, and she responded to my DM and helped me out. It felt like the appointment didnāt just end when I left the salon. You can tell sheās really dedicated to her work and to making sure her...
