I came here because my credit card was giving rewards to dine here. It was my first time. The restaurant was small and only had a few tables. I’m guessing that’s way I was the only table until I finished tonight. Most and many people order takeout. The decorations were nice and homey.
I ordered samosa for appetizers, and lamb Saagwala, and a garlic naan.
I think the samosas were a bit expensive, but it was pretty good. The outside was light and crispy. The mashed and seasoned potatoes inside were very flavorful. It wasn’t greasy at all. I also like the sauce came with the meal, especially the green one!
The lamb saagwala was so delicious! The lamb was almost fork tender. The spinach sauce was so well seasoned. It was not spicy at all. I did bite into some kind of spice, but it wasn’t overpowering. It was like a nice and gentle surprise.
The garlic naan was so great! It was nice and fluffy. The garlic on top wasn’t too strong and was too spicy, which was my type of naan. I didn’t have bad breath after eating it. By the way, the rice was so nice and fluffy, too! It goes really well with the curry.
The service was nice, but I guess because I was the only table it was actually kinda awkward to have someone constantly watching me eat. I was thinking the portion was kind of small when my meal arrived, but after finishing everything, I guess the portion was okay. Since I don’t like to bring leftover home anyways. However, for the price, I do think the portion should be larger. In addition, everything is more expensive than the menu I found online. Overall, it was a standard Indian restaurant. I’d like to come back and try...
Read moreWe're always wanting to try new places, but with Indian cuisine, we have a favorite. Unfortunately, we decided to cheat on our favorite place to try Mughlai.
Nice people on the phone but unfortunately, we've had better. Ordered chicken tikka masala, (appetizers) chicken tikka kabob and boti kabab (lamb). With that, the traditional sauces...mint, cucumber raita and tamarind.
Sorry to do this bad review but I felt compelled to inform you that the chicken tikka masala was in a sweet tomato kind of sauce, not the traditional masala :-( and the chicken was dryer than a covered bridge. Chicken kabab was again dry but flavor was good and the lamb, again, had good flavor, but was a bit chewy...spicy like we like it though. Unfortunately, when I dipped the boti into the brown tamarind sauce, there was a thick beard hair in it...needless to say we stopped eating right there.
I feel you would all have a better take out experience with our go to, Yeti Spice Grill on 1st and 91st....
Read moreThe worst unedible Brianna I ever had in 50 years and I have it almost every other week elsewhere throughout Manhattan. Clunks of an edible, uncooked spices such as cardamom and Bayleaf. Undigestible and almost broke my teeth. Items that are supposed to be taken out of the dish after cooked and the cardamom seeds are supposed to be blended in with the food and not like pistachio nut shells. I love spicy food but I did not order this to be spicy because biryani is a comfort food and it was so spicy that it was not even edible. I told him I couldn’t eat it and I had to pay for it anyway. I would have gladly taken any other type of dish. This was the first time I ever had it there and I have not returned since and I never will. These are not professional chefs. Check out the reviews on yelp because obviously they remove negative r Reviews here on their own website and they probably have family putting in plenty of positive...
