I was really sadden by my experience at the store yesterday. I placed an order for pickup because I didn't have time to wait for a delivery. I was happy that I could just come to the store since it was right by my daily commute. However, when I came in I did not feel welcomed. When I picked up my order I felt like the person behind the counter just wanted me to leave, but I ignored it thinking maybe he just didn't expect me to browse. I wanted to look around since I was there for a gift. As I was looking I felt uncomfortable, because I felt like he was watching me. I kept browsing and got closer to the counter and he asked in a weird tone "do you leave nearby?" I don't like discussing personal details with strangers so I kept it short and said 'yeah' or something like that. Then, again in a weird tone he said, "because I can see your address in the order..." while giving me a weird look. My suspicions where confirmed that was being looked at differently than the other customers. I kept it polite and left but I kept feeling very sadden and frankly offended by the interaction. I am writing this review just to let you know, no I am not a criminal, just a customer that was happy to have found a store where I could get fun, quirky and queer things. Needless to say, I won't be going there again. Very disappointed, and that's an...
Read moreExtremely clutch store. Took a family trip to New York and wanted to get my girlfriend a Bunny JellyCat while we were up there. We went to F.A.O Schwartz first and they did not have any good JellyCats! They told us they were restocking and would have more the next morning, but when we went the next morning their selection still sucked!! It was our last day in New York and I felt like a failure. What kind of boyfriend was I if I couldn’t get my amazing girlfriend her Bunny JellyCat. With little options left we decided to try a store called Delphinium Home. My mom called the store asking if they carried Bunny JellyCats. While I listened with little hope, I heard the words “Oh you do?”. My ears perked up and I sat up straight. Not only did they have bunny JellyCats, they had the Blossom Bunny! PERFECT! The amazing man on the other side of the phone was Gary. Gary is so clutch. Dare I say more clutch than Kobe Bryant himself. Gary even set aside a Bunny JellyCat for me because they only had a few left. We headed straight to the store to get it. When we got there we were greeted by Gary holding up the bunny. I did it! All thanks to Gary my girlfriend will stay with me and I can be happy! And the store is also very cool and has many other...
Read moreI came to Delphinium Home in October BY COMPLETE ACCIDENT. My friend and I were waking around the city killing time before our show and saw this cute little shop and decided to go in. Best. Decision. Ever! They had a wide variety of things, NYC themed and more! I ended up buying “the original gay bar”’ soap from them as a Christmas gift for a friend and the two men at the check out were a delight and I hope whoever they were (the shop owners, maybe? That’s what I assumed!) have a wonderful life because they were so nice and funny and I’m so glad I stopped in.
It only took me two months to do a review because I just pulled out the soap to ship off...
