Dr. Rushita Mehta: Avant Allergy & Asthma — Local services in New York

Dr. Mehta is a truly amazing doctor, and I feel so lucky to have found her! Having struggled with allergies for over 15 years, I’ve probably seen five different allergists in a couple other major cities. But Dr. Mehta is by far the best. She’s personable, knowledgeable, and efficient. When I came in with a long list of allergies, she was also pragmatic about how to best go about seeing which were still active and which I might have (hopefully) outgrown. Where other allergists may push a plethora of testing, Dr. Mehta’s more realistic approach is a breath of fresh air that leaves me feeling empowered vs. overwhelmed whenever I leave an appointment. And as if that weren’t already enough, the office space is beautiful and aesthetic, and her nurse/MA is so warm and kind.

I can’t recommend Dr. Mehta enough, and I’m so grateful to have Avant Allergy and Asthma in my team of healthcare...

When I first came to Dr. Mehta’s office a little over a year ago, I suffered from crippling seasonal allergies all year-round! Having been diagnosed with being allergic to EVERYTHING external, breathing through my nose was a luxury. What I thought was an unsolvable issue (having seen my mother suffer for so many years herself), quickly became an easily solvable one. She quickly got me on a plan to ween off of Afrin (it’s terrible for you!), while also controlling my allergy symptoms. My allergies are completely under control without the burden of dependency to daily allergy medication. Dr Mehta is a breath of fresh air! Literally! I clearly owe her my life bc otherwise nature would’ve killed me a long time ago. I’ve been Dr mehta’s patient since ~2017 and will never go elsewhere. She has an insane memory and knowledge (I ask her medical non-allergy questions all the time and she knows all). She has kept me alive through 1 dog, 16 cats and foster kittens and all these gd trees and flowers that threaten my life on the daily. She’s worked with me on flexible hours when I’ve had tyrannical jobs and bosses, and she’s always happy and honest. She def takes your health srsly and bends over backwards for her patients. I’ve prob only sneezed 4x in the past 7 years...
