Read moreWhen we were looking for a daycare for my then 11 mo son, my husband and I were looking for a something that was safe, clean, reasonably priced, and full time with later hours since we both work full time. Fairytale daycare not only checked off all the boxes, but the program greatly surpassed all our expectations. Their hours were by far better than any other daycare in the area (M-F 8 am-6 pm, with an option for early drop off starting at 7 am). They also provide ALL 3 meals + snacks, which was a HUGE plus for us. Within the first few months of being in the 1-year old classroom, we noticed how quickly my son was developing in comparison to other children his age that were not enrolled in daycare (or even those attending other daycare facilities). Even though there arenât any state education requirements for children ages 1-2 y, his teachers taught him all the colors, shapes, animals, ABCâs, and how to count from 1-10... all before he even turned 1.5yo. He is now 2.5 years old and has continued to flourish in the 2 yo class. They are able to keep my wildly energetic son entertained with music, gym (swan program), art projects, and more. All of the teachers are fantastic - they are caring, fun, patient and understanding. The administration is always helpful and available. My son LOVES going to school, and it takes about 15-20 minutes to convince him to leave when we pick him up at the end of the day. We are so thrilled we chose fairytale daycare and we canât wait for our youngest...

My wife and I live in Rego Park and spent weeks looking for a daycare before the arrival of our first son. We found Fairytale and thought it could work, given our close proximity to the facility. We put a deposit down in August of 2017, just so we could get a spot in February of 2018. That's SEVEN MONTHS of lead time before our son would start daycare. Everything was paid and we were guranteed a spot for our son, however ONE WEEK before our son was supposed to start daycare, we get an email stating that all of a sudden they wouldn't be able to accommodate him until March. ONE WEEK NOTICE TO LET US KNOW THAT HE COULDN'T START FOR ANOTHER MONTH?! And the reason they gave was that they were "unfortunately situated", which doesn't actually mean anything.
It's really hard getting into any daycare because there are huge wait-lists, and the only way is often to pay a security deposit months in advance. We also structured all of our leave from work around the fact that our little one could start daycare in February. A week's notice is an impossible situation to find good childcare, especially for an infant. Please, please, please, do yourself a favor and find something else. It is not worth...
