After 24 years I was back in this firehouse. Since that moment a lot has happened...... All doors were closed but the door opened 2 seconds after I rang the doorbell. The men were all very friendly and curious to know who we were. I brought some pictures that were taken 24 years ago. And I took a lot of new pictures. My family were also very happy with this nice experience. I will come back when I’am in NY again.

Or how great it felt being in that uniform, driving those fire trucks at a moments notice. Thank you FDNY heroes, for all of your sacrifices I know its not easy! #FDNYKID

The firefighters there couldn't have been nicer, invited us in when they saw us looking at the trucks outside. There is wreckage of some of the fire engines from their station destroyed on 9/11 displayed in the building as well. This was one of the closest stations to Ground Zero on that day.

After 22 years…. I send all my love to Ladder 1 from Germany. You showed to the whole world what hero’s u and all the firefighters and first responders are. Not only that day, every day. U gave us hope back in these dark times about the good in humanity, about true friendship and what a hero is all about. Thank you. We will always remember you. 22 years ago today this firehouse went to the world trade center to save as many people as they could after the terrorist attacks. A few years after this happened, my sister got married and when I was in New York I wanted to visit this firehouse because i have the dvd of the documentary done at the firehouse.
