The first time you visit the subway station at flatbush junction, you might say its a neat little stop.  There's a big Target next to it, and many other places to shop: Walgreens, Dunkin, Popeyes, McDonald's, Burger King, and Dallas bbq.  The stop is a short walk to Bklyn College. Those who use the station everyday see the problems with it. There's two tracks: one for a 2 train and the other for a 5.    You can only get from one train to the other by walking south, turning the bend, then walking north.  Of course it would make sense for the last stop to have a platform between both tracks, so if one goes out of service passengers could easily go to the other. The current design would make more sense if the line was extended south towards Emmons and the ocean.  A new terminus could have the type of design more practical for the end of the line.  The MTA has no plans on an extension; such a project won't get started in my lifetime. There is a small elevator servicing the station.  Most of the time it works. A lot of busses connect to the station at the junction.  The 44 local and 44-sbs run on Nostrand.  The 41 runs south to kings plaza and north to downtown bklyn along flatbush.  The b11, b103, and q35 also connect here. Far too often the train is jam-packed. On weekends when they do construction things are even worse. The MTA does things like: close service on the 2, and tell people to use the q, but they run no extra trains on the q line. Another factor on the 2 train is that it is a magnet for the homeless. When traveling to this station late at night you will run into cops, homeless outreach, and other services for the homeless. The station may meet the bare minimum requirements to be called serviceable.

The southern terminus of the 2 and 5 trains. The station is pretty good it’s just that the trains take too long coming in.

Great Transit hub. 2 train gets you on the West side of Manhattan. 5 train gets you to the East side. You get kind of spoiled being it's the 1st and last stop on the train. Many convenient entrances and exits. Trains are on schedule over 90% of the time. You can catch the Select Bus B44 that takes you to Williamsburg in 35 minutes. To BedStuy in 30 minutes.

B41 bus takes you to Kings Plaza shopping Mall! Even a bus that takes you to the beach in 30 minutes! . A 20-minute train ride puts you to Atlantic Ave/Barclays Center for entertainment or a quick transfer to the letter train lines. A 20-minute ride on the 2 gets you to Prospect Park and Brooklyn Museum.

Lots of Food and Shopping at this train stop. Great selection of traditional Caribbean eateries (Bake and Things, Island Burger, Fisherman's Cove) commercial dining like Chipotle, Panda Express, Applebee's. Clothing shopping and banking a major plus and convenience! Overall a great...

This train station is the absolute WORST! This is the ONLY MTA station where it’s the last stop and the platform isn’t interchangeable. Why must one walk all the way around to the back of the station to catch the next leaving train. VERY INCONVENIENT. And if that wasn’t enough why are there about 10+ timers at that station and ONLY TWO work when they’re not showing ads. It’s absolutely ridiculous. Not to mention EVERY MTA worker at that station is clueless to what’s going on. Either that or they’re deliberately telling people the wrong trains that are leaving which is absolutely disgusting behavior. If I could give less than one star I...
