I have been growing hair for a year now and wondering what kind of style to get, I once have grown so long and just tie up like regular ponytail style. Recently I have been seeing many people online are getting the Under Low Cut Ponytail style so I just went with it. Before stopping at this particular barbershop I always google for best reviews on everything, so I found out that George's Barbershop has an excellent reviews and one of the best in NYC. So, Yesterday I left from my home from Queens which it took me over an hour to get there, since I was off so what the heck. I was greeted by an Hairstyles gentleman name KNOCK, he is a very friendly asian dude, after choosing the style that I want, it took nearly half an hour that he worked on my hair with multiple hair trimmers/shavers as I told him that I rarely go to the barbers, he did great job, took his time and not cutting shortcuts, after getting back few of my friends liked my new style. I totally recommend George's Barbershop to anyone who want an excellent service with decent price and...
Read moreTLDR: Great shop, friendly staff, and fantastic price for the area ($20 for students, $27 regular). Definitely going back, and would definitely reccomend.
Just stopped in after a day of classes to get a much needed cut (shaved sides and 3-5'' scissors on top). The shop was empty when I walked in, and I was welcomed and served immediately. Told him what I wanted and he went at it, having me check throughout the process to make sure I was happy with what he was doing. He even offered me and the other client waiting a beer/shot (included in the price of the cut) which is always nice. We engaged in small talk and he finished up with a hot foam shave. Overall this was a great find in the Clinton Hill / Fort Green area and you CANT beat the PRICE! Especially for students! Many other shops charge 35-55 for essentially the same cut. Definitely check this place out if you're looking for a great...
Read moreI have been growing my hair out for 8 months so that I could get it to a point where I could tie it up. I went in to get any dead ends cleaned up and some shape in the back and I specifically told the barber to only cut an 1/8 of an inch off and he went to town with clippers on my hair and took off in some places upwards of 2 inches. Worst part is that neither side of my head was even and when I told him to even it out so I could get out of the chair and go elsewhere he told he did. I got home and still the right side is significantly longer than the left and has random long sections behind the ear. The barber seemed to be more concerned with making small talk than actually listening to what I wanted. I tried to explain my frustration and he still didn't get it. Now I have to start the entire awkward stage of growing my hair...
