The last time I took this bus was 2019, so I wasn't 100% sure what to expect.
The bus and ride were surprisingly pleasant.
The things I noticed/encountered:
-The seats were a little smaller, but fairly comfy. -There were seat belts available -Depending on the seat, outlets were in the bottom/front of the 2 seats or side of the window seats. -There were large, panoramic tinted windows, which made the ride better. -Large garbage bags were placed throughout the bus, which helped keep the bus cleaner (assuming people used them). -The bathroom was small, but decent and clean...at least at the start of the ride. -There were foot rests, but they weren't very useful.
I took the 5:30 pm bus on a Wednesday, so it wasn't as packed as a weekend bus may have been. The driver was friendly, check-in process was seamless...we just gave our names. I didn't have any large luggage, so I didn't have to use that extra compartment on the outside/bottom of the bus, but it was available for self-loading/unloading. There was additional storage available above the seats (similar to an airplane) and below the front seats. Even though there was traffic and heavy rain, we made it to our stop (stop #2 out of 3) in perfect time.
There are multiple signs for Go Bus, luckily the bus driver walked over to us and let us know that the bus is actually stopped 2 signs ahead.
Would I take this bus again?...
ย ย ย Read moreA number of years ago, I took GoBus to and from Boston fairly often, with few issues. Recently, they added a DC stop in Eastern Market, so again Iโve been taking it a lot lately.
Four weeks ago, the bus was delayed an hour, then poured diesel on the street, and when it started pouring rain and they said they would try to get a new bus from NJ, I opted for another bus to DC. It took repeated emails and calls to get a refund. I still lost money on the last minute BestBus ticket I bought. I saw from another review that that 6pm bus arrived in DC after 2am.
The next week, my bus left 30 minutes late. It then stopped in Greenbelt, where zero passengers got off. The light in the bathroom did not work.
My boyfriendโs bus left an hour and fifteen minutes last week, and 30 minutes the week before.
And now, my bus is over an hour delayed leaving for Boston, there is no Wi-Fi, and the bathroom is not usable. And they decided to wait until everyone boarded to check us in one by one, adding additional time. Needless to say, this is my last trip.
Delays happen. Delays this consistently show they schedule their buses way too close together, not allowing any room for traffic. Poor customer service on top of...
ย ย ย Read moreI have always driven when I traveled from New York to the south. My family and I love to take road trips. My daughter in law and my son told me about this bus I could take to visit them and give myself a break from having to drive solo, so much, with 2 people with disabilities. I have taken a few bus trips with this company with my 85 year old mother and my teen son with special needs. Our first couple of trips were great. The problem I have with this company is the customer service is awful. Trying to get a live person is non existent. We missed the 8:30am bus due to really bad traffic and a driver who drove slow as molasses and took the longest route to the Westside highway. It was a weekday and they often have many empty seats on a weekday. I tried to see if they would extend courtesy to us and allow us to use any unfilled seats on the next bus, without having to pay another fare. There were plenty of empty seats on the night bus. Sadly, no courtesy or compassion or great customer service was extended. I had to pay for 3 seats again even though seats were not filled. I get it's a business and they want to make money but they have to use better discretion with their customers and treat...
