It looks like a sculpture made by a famous artist, but is a peacemaker by using one of the most powerful military weapons of a strong power to show its tremendous power of destruction to the other nations trying to invade weaker countries to expand its territory or unify the divided land. It is not awesome work .It is a cutting edge weapon that is deployed on the land where enemies could see it from their borders, so they don't try anything bad with their fragile weapons .They should recognize it , which is on part of land over the last 7 train station in Manhattan, and if they could see it as a surprising and so powerful weapon that they have to sit still in their places and if they ignore it and break into other nations ,it is going to start destruction of your country . It has not only a goal to defend its country from other enemies but also help poor ,weak countries empower to be a strong one .They will not be forgiveness if they try to make a noise in the innocent countries ,which value peace .It .Rising thousands of feet from ground aiming at them , and the endless of university coexisting for its mission for peace and its appearance is similar to a tallest building existing in the world , and it's appearance looks like one of the largest and tallest new clear weapons that America has in the army base in the desert ready to go to anywhere at the end of earth, by a commander order , it can reach in a moment any countries to shatter a city completely that will be take so many decades to rebuild it .It can be put many extra missiles if necessary at each holes piercing so randomly in entire body in order to contain them , which are beautiful flowers when they start to blooming on the ground where enemies are hiding because they are fearful of it.When it is revealed by enemies thousands of people are needed to conceal it from seeing by enemies because it is extremely important not to be taken over by enemies as it is one of weapons the U.S.has boast and it has a goal to get them to be shocked and to be trembling when they see it before dropping it on their lands controlled by a dictator that the people don't know what their rights are , what a democracy is .Tourists say, "Oh ,my God. It's wonderful " again when they see it .At nights everyone is asleep the owner of it regains extreme anger and I hear him sighing about what he endures that a few countries are doing wrong and he almost decides to invaded the countries with this weapon but the effort is in vain as the sun rises again on the ground, and the soft dawn wind makes him once again gentle, kind, generous when people gather at the sculpture ,which is definitely beautiful for them , with cheers, admiration, praise out of their mouths for it and he is greatful enough to have it and feels happiness ,ecstasy by their admiration. , At night, however, he watches in other nations 'people across ocean are in tears, oppression , starvation and no rights to tell this systems are wrong and we know they must not have them if they are living in a democracy country. He drews fury without mercy to attack them by this weapon that is more powerful than any other weapons to destroy brutal officials who have created so many vicious system on the public and harassed people with them . but he gets mercy ,goodness from tourists who have visited this sight with their cheers that the sight makes them .It is worn out every night ,however, to fight to choose which way is right and which way is wrong that doesn't amuse its celestial heart and is grateful for the sound of people visiting here .It is surrounded by a crowd again and gets a huge enough compliment. " Oh , my God ."His way to peace , promise that people are more valuable than any other important systems and no war to kill the innocent , no dictator acting sort of crazy have not determined yet to end them , resolutions seen here and there in the...
Read moreI've known about the Vessel for a while now but was unable to go due to COVID. They recently reopened about a month or two ago. Their current reservation system is the same as before I believe. You can go online and reserve an hour-long window to visit during, which is free. You can also purchase a flex-ticket for $10 which covers the entire day and you can show up at any time during that day. I believe you can also arrive on the day-of in hope to get same-day tickets at one of the nearby kiosks. The Vessel is located in a plaza between 30-33rd streets and 10-11th avenues. You can take the 7 train to the Hudson Yards station and walk about a block to the Vessel as well. I arrived at around 3:30 for my 4-5PM ticket. I decided to take a stroll at the mall which has lots of high end stores on the main floor, but others including some food options on the higher floors. Around 4:10 I made my way to the Vessel entrance where they scanned my e-ticket (you can also bring out a printer ticket). They then did a quick bag check and I proceeded into the Vessel. A wonderful and amazing structure. Lots of stairs to climb so be mindful of that. Though there are a lot fo stairs, they are not steep steps. Also after each set of stairs (about 14 steps) there are landings where you can stop rest and take pics of course. Bring comfortable shoes to climb those stairs. There is also an elevator available but that may be reserved for disabled visitors. Lots of people are taking pics as you can imagine. Masks are required to be worn at all times but people do take them off intermittently to take photos. There were a number of staff there patroling and reminding people to keep their masks ON. It is okay to take it off for a few seconds for a photo op, but not much longer than that. Also sunsets seem to be the most popular times as the Vessel offers some amazing views of the sun setting of over the Hudson River. Lots of people were on the upper platforms getting photos while the sun was setting. If you are taking photos be sure to look up and down...the Vessel structure is pretty amazing and both bird's eye views from the top and worm's eye views from the bottom are pretty cool. Also, fellow photographers, tripod are NOT allowed to be used while at the Vessel, but you can keep one in your backpack as long as you use it. Also...I was told by two security guards while on the HUdson Yards grounds that the grounds are private property (much like Rockefeller Center) and tripods are NOT allowed to be used ANYWHERE on the plaza. Overall it was a great experience. It is a lovely structure in a lovely plaza with lots of photo ops. It is absolutely free and all staff members I encountered were very helpful. Their reservation system works well during the pandemic. I highly recommend...
Read moreIt's one of the more recent addition to the list of NYC attractions, and I am happy to have finally checked it off on my list. It's located at the north end of the High Line, another must NYC attraction. If you're visiting on a Sunday, you can easily find free street parking somewhere along the High Line and take a very nice walk via the High Line to the Hudson Yards Public Square, where Vessel is located. You should plan for your trip because you need to book a pass before hand, unless your itinerary permits you to wait around for a same day ticket. In my case, the weekend passes run out approximately one week before. They are also very strict on time of entry. We arrived one hour before our scheduled slot, and the staff would not even let you wait in line until 10 minutes before. The upside to this is the line is constantly kept short.
"Vessel" is a temporary name, though I suspect it's going to stick. The internet is circulating with the term "Shawarma" due to its shape. Personally, I think it looks more like a pine cone. The views and the surrounding are one of a kind. The location is also prime and central - right next to it are the Shed, the Edge, and the Shops (which has a very nice rest rooms which I guarantee you're end up using.
It takes under 10 minutes to leisurely walk to the top, taking a few photos a long the way. If you want to walk the entire 154 flights of stairs and 2,500 steps, that's would be a different story. I didn't see the point, especially you have your other walks cut out for the day in NYC. Just walk straight to the top, and then do your 360 degree walk for different perspectives.
One bone I can surely pick is the elevator. It unnecessarily operates at a very long 15 minute intervals and takes very few (~8) and selective people. Not sure how you can proof your need if you're neither handicapped nor elderly. And it's a joke to a wheelchair-bound because the elevator's only stop is a the top and there the wheelchair would be trapped in one small area between 2 flights of stairs for another 15 minutes. It's perfect for elderly visitors.
It's definitely a must visit, given the location and the artistic nature of the...
