An “Old Tree” has sprouted on the High Line Plinth A new sculpture created by acclaimed Swiss artist Pamela Rosenkranz @pamelaememrosenkranz was unveiled earlier today on the @highlinenyc. Titled “Old Tree”, the fluorescent pink 25-foot-tall sculpture is comprised of manmade materials. “It’s meant to resemble the branching systems of the human organs, blood vessels and tissue in order to draw a connection between our own lives and the nature around us. It invites viewers to consider the connection between our own lives and the plants around us as well as contemplate human evolution and a world where the synthetic has become nature.” Now through September 2024. A Gigantic Hot Pink Tree has Sprouted in NYC 🌳 Planted on the Highline and strategically placed between skyscrapers, you’ll find Old Tree, a gigantic hot pink tree sculpture by Swiss artist Pamela Rosenkranz. Standing 25 feet tall and stretching wide with 145 branches, Old Tree makes quite a bold statement. Is it a tree? Make sure you examine closer! The sculpture mimics “the branching system” of limbs, tissue and blood vessels of a human; inviting the viewer to consider the connection between a plant’s life and a human, and acts as a beacon of possibility and renewal.
