It was Sunday and most locations close to Hudson Yards were bustling with brunch business and quoted long waits. We were hungry and cold and stumbled upon the Hudson Yards Tavern. I was hopeful that this would be one of those gems where it is warm and lively and the food would be solid and hit the spot. All I can say is that it was warm. We were seated immediately for which we were very thankful. Our server dropped menus, took drink orders and went on about her business. She did not return for a long period of time. When she did return with our drinks she apologized and said that they were understaffed. I can overlook that as we were not in a rush but when I asked for the waters that we had requested when ordering drinks she did display annoyance. When asked what the soup of the day was she responded with "chicken soup and shrimp soup". I asked about the shrimp soup and she could not clarify. We ordered Nachos for the table to start. I ordered a steak sandwich, which she asked for a temperature on, my guests ordered a burger, a cubano sandwich and farfalle pasta with chicken. Our nachos came out (cheese sauce instead of real cheese) with not much else on the plate. We asked for share plates for the table of 4 guests and 3 plates were brought over. Our entrees arrived before we had the opportunity to decide who was not getting a share plate. The steak sandwich was bits and pieces of beef scraps held together by a whisper of cheese. It is not clear what the purpose of the temperature taking was as the bits were all just overcooked scraps. The most offensive part was the pasta, which reminded me of the dish from the movie Better Off Dead when the meal climbs off the plate as a blob monster. It was a soupy, yellow mess of sauce with a few pieces of farfalle thrown in. We couldn't even distinguish what the sauce was supposed to be. My guest was too embarrassed to return it, nor were we given the opportunity to, because we were never checked on again. The best thing that I ate during the whole meal was the celery from the bloody mary. This experience was not only incredibly disappointing but made me angry that we actually paid for something so disgusting. All said and done we spent over $30 per person. I will not return and would definitely advise others to avoid it...

I recently visited Hudson Yards Tavern and it was an unforgettable experience. The combination of delicious food, refreshing drinks, and a stunning poolside setting makes this place truly special.
The atmosphere is incredible—chic yet laid-back, with comfortable seating around the pool that’s perfect for lounging or socializing. The pool itself was crystal clear and inviting, making it a fantastic addition for those who want to cool off or just enjoy the view.
The menu had a great variety, and everything we ordered was top-notch. I started with the Fried Calamari, which was fresh and flavorful. For the main course, I tried the Citrus Salmon , which was beautifully plated and perfectly cooked. The cocktail menu is equally impressive; the Hudson Tropical, was a standout—refreshing, perfectly balanced, and ideal for sipping by the pool.
The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed. They made us feel welcome and relaxed throughout the visit.
Whether you’re looking for a fun day out with friends or a unique spot for dinner and drinks, Hudson Yards Tavern is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be returning to soak up the vibe again soon!

Read moreIf I could give no stars I would. I very rarely, if ever, post reviews but this was so bad I want to warn others not to eat here. To start, the pictures for this restaurant are not from the restaurant. It is a tiny little pub which is actually quaint inside but that's where the positive part of this restaurant ends. Our waitress took our order and never came back. When she took our order, she didn't know what salad dressings they had and didn't ask anyone. Our food took about an hour even though we were the second table to place our order and they weren't busy. During that time no one came to check on us. I even looked at our waitress, she saw me look at her and then she looked away to just continue standing behind the bar. When the food finally came, the salad was tiny and poorly presented and the burger that I ordered medium rare was well done like a hockey puck. But since it was an hour to get food, I was stuck eating it. When we got our check, I saw that the clueless waitress, who didn't write down our order, had put in for a medium well done burger. Then to top off the meal, as we waited for the check, a large cockroach crawled across the booth....
