Disappointed by the rude and unprofessional behavior. I walked into the store with my mom, and immediately noticed that the two women working there were deep in a conversation in Spanish, completely ignoring customers. My mom politely asked a question about jewelry, and I noticed one of the women give her a dirty look in response. Concerned, I asked my mom what happened, and she said she was just inquiring about toe rings.

I then looked at the woman and asked if they sold toe rings, since I wasn’t sure how their exchange had gone. Instead of answering calmly, both women became hostile, raising their voices and ganging up on me. Assuming I was asking them “what happened”, when I was asking my mom. I couldn’t even finish a sentence they were aggressive, defensive, and extremely unprofessional.

Feeling uncomfortable, I told my mom, “Let’s go, the energy here is bad,” to which one of the women responded, “Yes, go, leave! ” I left feeling confused and shocked, and now that I’m reading other reviews, it seems I’m not alone in this experience.

It felt like the dirty look may have been because my mom interrupted their personal conversation, which is disappointing especially considering we were customers. This was our first visit and definitely our last.

Wishing them all the best, but customer service like that……., no words just wish you the best and hoping there is change in how customers...

What a terrible experience. My daughter and her friend went in eagerly and were immediately profiled. The lady who was working greeted everyone but them, and even with that, my daughter said hello just to get a rude "hi" back. They were followed, they were stared up and down. They were never approached, but made to feel uncomfortable and unwanted. Will never step foot into this business again. I and my family will continue to go to Bigelow's were our presence and money are always welcomed and appreciated.

My review was about your business. My daughter was profiled and your staff racist. But seeing your response it isn't a suprise the behavior of your staff. And as a matter in fact, Bigelow's sells jewelry and accessories. I will not take down my review. Your store and your response to customer satisfaction...

I stumbled upon this beautifully-curated shop sometime last summer and HAD to get the art pencil purse. I’ve taken that thing all around the world and have received dozens of compliments from every place! It’s truly become a conversation starter and a cherished piece in my collection.

Thank goodness I took a picture of the bag + tag (with permission) so I could revisit on my next NYC trip. This time, I walked away with a rockstar dinosaur crossbody that makes me smile every time I look at it.
