I wouldn’t classify this as a thrift store. This is more like an eBay store where they get donated gifts for free and price match their prices to roughly around the top dollar price for the same used goods on eBay. This growing trend with corporate thrift stores such as Goodwill, Salvation Army, Housing Works and other conglomerate companies that receive free donations and in return price gouge their own clientele who are there to shop on a budget is the quintessential American way of screwing over the consumer. Just look at how much money Housing Works is making on their dispensary. It costs roughly $400,000 to $1,000,000 to operate and start a dispensary. Do you really need to price gouge thrift store clientele to keep up with the market. These companies need to be reclassified as resell flea markets and not as thrift stores. No this comment won’t change their prices but maybe someone else will see it who is unaware of this growing change in this industry and maybe just maybe that can be a snow ball effect into bigger change....
Read moreWent today for first time with quite a few items to donate. Very surprised to see such a lack of interest from the people who work there. Absolutely no eye contact was made even with the person that did assist me in taking my donated items.Have yet to hear a hello, thank you or have a nice day. Any other place I've donated I was offered a receipt, whether I wanted one or not. The workers are moving about as if they are trying to beat the clock or getting paid by the minute. They move about in complete disregard for the donors or customers . I obviously looked like I needed help and I received more attention from a customer who was waiting for his wife than from anyone who worked at the location. He pointed out a person who worked there that might assist me. I had planned on making several trips with donated items but doubt if I will be back to...
