I've been frequenting La Villa for roughly a year without telling my friends about my little secret.
Last night my husband wanted good Pizza and so I told him I have this place in Park Slope that's the real deal. Of course husbands never believe their wives when it means travelling 20 minutes to pizza, so for the duration of the car ride him and my friends in the back seat made sure to threaten that if this is not the best pizza they've had, they would never forgive me.
We walk in to La Villa and get greeted by a friendly staff telling us the Maitre De will be with us in just a moment. While we're waiting, Jose at the bar asks if we'd like to sit in the VIP section where he can serve us. Of course we love good service so we took our seats at the bar.
Jose is THAT employee that all businesses wish for. We came in wanting just pizza and somehow he managed to, very charmingly, get us to order a million other things. Don't mistaken this for a complaint, this was the perfect night with the real deal Italian pizza.
We ordered the Focaccia della Nonna pizza, Eggplant Parmesan, Salad, Wine, Beer, Desserts.
Everything we ordered was per Jose's recommendation. I cannot begin to tell you how on point he was with deciding what each of us would enjoy. Especially with my wine. He picked the perfect red for me.
If you need a solid eggplant parmesan that tastes a tiny bit like chicken, (It's that good) this is the place to get it at. We ravaged that plate as if it was the last eggplant on earth.
The pizza, as per the boys, was seemingly incredible. They couldn't stop thanking me and praising me for getting them seriously good Pizza.
From start to finish, this was a meal fit for the best. Service at La Villa is absolutely top notch and the food, we'll--- there was nothing left on our plates. So...

THE GOOD: If you could dream of another life where you had a Nonna who loves to cook, spoil you with food, ram food down your throat and knows how to throw down in the kitchen, La Villa probably has more than one slinging dishes in the kitchen.
La Villa (Park Slope) is one of the most consistent and welcoming Italian restaurants in the area. Their custom wood-fired pizzas always deliver in taste and if you are in the mood for a slice to satisfy your craving, their Napoletana is absolutely one-of-kind. If you love pasta and want to splurge for the evening, their Baked Ziti will literally put you into pasta-coma. Balsamic chicken, grilled shrimp, green salads, calamari, branzino, whatever you want, it's all here. The secret ingredient, is the SAUCE! I can't explain it, just taste it!
THE BAD: This place feels like home when you walk in. It's like Cheers where everyone knows your name. Alex and Michael are always waiting at the counter and ready to take your problems away and get you seated. Liz and all the kitchen staff are sweating it up by the oven preparing and coordinating all the food to make sure it gets into your stomach the quickest way possible. David, Armando, Freddie and Victor are usually waiting the tables and making sure every customer is always satisfied. And, I have no words to describe the hospitality that I feel when José sees me walking through the door. Who needs friends when you have lovers like Josè!!!??
THE UGLY: The Peroni never seems to run out.
P.S. Do NOT skimp on the dessert, the homemade Tiramisu is one of the best things you could try....
Read moreUnbelievable. I ordered $56 worth of food on seamless. The lady calls me and says they are out of whipped cream for the $9 slice of cake. I was like, OK, can you just throw in a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and she was like No, we charge for that. Then I said, ok, then just cancel the order. She asks, may I ask why? I said, you can't just throw in a scoop of ice cream? She says, hold on, let me talk to the manager. Immediately comes back and says, ok, we'll cancel it. It irked me, so I called back. The manager answered. I was like I just ordered, and you were out of whipped cream and wondered why you couldn't just replace it with a scoop of ice cream. He aggressively says, take it up with grub hub, we charge for that! I said, I ordered $56 worth of food, with a delivery charge of $5 and I'm tipping $8 for delivery, and you can't throw in a scoop of ice cream to replace something you are out of for the $9 slice of cake. Aggressively he says, WE CHARGE FOR THAT. That is simply bad business and gross. Out of principle you should steer clear of this place. And if that manager is reading this, he should be...
