This turned out to be a lengthy review. Jump to the last paragraph if you just want a summary.

I'm usually looking for a restaurant that has a variety of options to satisfy myself and my kids. Terrace definitely has a variety of food. There's your usual breakfast fare with eggs, bacon, English muffins, pancakes, fresh squeezed juice(!), and the such. For lunch and dinner, they have the typical American food options with burgers, chicken sandwiches, chicken fingers, wraps, mozzarella sticks, fries, onion rings, milk shakes, and so on... They also serve Mexican food like nachos, burritos, fajitas, quesadillas, etc. There were more options but the menu was too large to look through it all! I had an idea of what I wanted anyway. I did see a French onion soup that I was thinking I might come back for.

There is indoor and outdoor seating available. We sat inside today. It's decorated with some lovely paintings in the front, a bunch of Marilyn Monroe pics in the next section and some other pictures I didn't get a good look at. The waiter brought our menus promptly. The food took at least 25-30 minutes to come out. By the time it got to us, the kids were half-way done with their shakes. I ordered a margarita that was not the best. My son got a plain cheeseburger with fries. My daughter got the chicken fingers with fries. I got an avocado cheeseburger deluxe with sauteed onions and waffle fries. The burgers were overcooked, but not dry. I took a tiny bite of my daughter's chicken fingers and they were tasty. After assembling my burger, I bit in. The burger was okay- not the best, not the worst. I added some salt and pepper to help it. My son didn't like his burger at first. I told him to try it without the bun and he ate it without further complaint. The waffle fries were great!

We then tried dessert. My daughter got vanilla ice cream with fudge and whipped cream. My son got the churros with vanilla ice cream. I got the chocolate mousse and stole a little of my daughter's whipped cream😉. Neither of them finished because they were so full! Lol. The food was decent, but the dessert was wonderful!

It was a beautiful Thursday afternoon. I noticed only 2 or 3 waitstaff on hand, who were nice. Although it wasn't very busy, I think they could have used a little help. There are 3 unisex bathrooms and 1 family bathroom. There's a 2-faucet sink outside the bathrooms, and a couple other paintings to decorate. There was music playing but I don't recall what it was. I think it was music from the '80-90's but not really sure.

The atmosphere was nice. The food was acceptable. The dessert was great! I think it's worth another visit. Maybe I'll try the Mexican menu next, or the French onion soup & mozzarella sticks I was...

My spouse and I was walking around 5th Ave in Park Slope trying to find some place to eat lunch. As we were walking by Terrace Restaurant and Bakery, we saw some people eating outside and the smell of their food is literary what made us come in. We were welcomed by a friendly hostess and was seated in the back of an aesthetically pleasing dining area. We were seated at a corner table and I melted into the plush seating. The menu was plentiful and had everything that you could think of. We both settled on a turkey burger and turkey Swiss cheese panini wrap. The food quickly came and once we took a bit we immediately fell silent as we took in all the juicy and delicious flavors we were presented with. The Pina coladas were order were so good that we both ordered a second round. As we were wrapping up i spoke to the waiter who brought us our takeaway containers and I asked about the owner as I was so impressed with the quality of the food and dining experience. About five minutes later we were graced with the honor of meeting “Andres”. He sat with us for about 15 minuets answering our questions and telling us his story. I can honestly say that you will never meet a more dedicated and honorable individual. While sitting listening to Andrea speak I was overcome with a sense of pride for this man who before today I had never met. From his humble beginning in Mexico to his ownership of the Terrace Restaurant, I feel myself wishing for his continued success and prosperity. We will definitely be back to enjoy their amazing food and...

To start off the place is lovely . Very live and back in the days theme in Mexico or even Cuba setting when it comes with the back of the restaurant...

The service..

We had 4 waiters.. 1 took our starter order while we had 2 to 3 kept on asking for our order.. each time we told them we r stilling looking another in under 2 mins came.. after being ask about 5 to 6 times within the first 10 mins.. even after telling them it's a lot to pick and we will wait till our first starter meal come to place the next order.. at this point another person came and ask us if we need anything so we finally ordered but the person says to me who was the one that took it order. At this point. I learn the service isn't working together and everyone is just running around and not paying attention or just running around without any order or coordination...

The food...

Very very blend .. u can taste other foods with any fried orders.. the hangover steak breakfast.. u need to be drunk to eat that.. nachos that is saggy is 60 percent of the meal.. and the steak u can taste the freezer burn no taste.. the best part was the avocado, water. And fresh drinks orange and cranberry juice.

Overall .. I wouldn't come back the high rating I don't understand.. I been to restaurants with 4.2 and taste great including service.. sadly this restaurant didn't give me the full...

Want a twist on a traditional brunch spot? This is a pretty great option in an excellent location. It was super easy to get a table, food was great and service was speedy. Definitely peruse the menu ahead of time though - it's lengthy. (lots of great options) I got the Terrace Breakfast Burrito which was delicious and filling, paired with the corn on the cob appetizer. The side salad could have come with a little light dressing or something to better jive with the burrito, but it was still fantastic. My friend got a torta which was HUGE but a bit on the bland side for the price. Could have used a sauce or something to keep the chicken juicy (ooh or even a dip!) Still not bad though. Just a little room for improvement to reach perfection :) One more thing - I found it interesting that the brunch specials were only valid on weekdays. Would have liked something like that prominently displayed for the weekend too. Regardless, I'll be back! Had a great time. Thanks for having us!
