Seemed promising, came on Easter Day... wasn't that busy and was seated nicely for a party of two outside. Waited a little while to order, the server was nice seemed attentive with questions and requests. Ordered draft beer and VIRGIN Mojito for my friend who doesn't drink alcohol. Mojito came out 5mn later took a few sips and my friend said it was horrible and really sour and tasted funny. Turns out it had alcohol and was not a VIRGIN drink. Server went on break so had to ask a new server 15mn later to correct the drink... that took almost 12-15mn later to get. They should have compt that drink as they served alcohol to someone that can't drink alcohol and we were more than halfway done eating by then. On top of that drink problem, server also forgot my beer and it was 15mn before I got it after a reminder and inquiries. Food, had the Snow Crab legs and Crawfish and Chicken Tender Sandwich. Thought the sandwich would come with BBQ sauce inside the sandwhich not, on the side when asked what seasoning for the sandwich... and never got the coleslaw... just fries (not crisp but tasty). Still, it was an ok sandwich. Snow Crab legs in Gulf Seasoning was ok, but on the salty side. Crawfish with the same seasonings however, were under seasoned and could have used a few more minutes of cooking time. Overall I don't think I'll be coming back. Seemed other customers were having problems too from what I saw and heard around the tables near my seating... bad drinks and dissatisfied food orders and wait times and having to ask for everything from drink reminders to lobster crackers to crack the Crabs (and dirty Crackers). A shame cause it smelled and looked great.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Shaking Crabs in Park Slope, and let me just say, it was an absolute delight! From the moment I walked in, the inviting atmosphere set the tone for a fantastic dining experience. The rustic yet modern decor created a cozy ambiance that instantly made me feel at home. But let's talk about the food – oh my goodness! We opted for the Royal Catch with crabs, and let me tell you, the flavor was out of this world. The succulent seafood was perfectly cooked and bursting with freshness. Each bite was a tantalizing explosion of taste that left me craving more. And speaking of cravings, the fried pickles and fried corn were hands down the best I've ever had. The crispy coating gave way to a burst of deliciousness with every bite. Now, let me give a shout-out to our server, Sam. We visited on a Tuesday and had the pleasure of being served by Sam. His attentiveness, friendly demeanor, and knowledge of the menu elevated our dining experience to another level. Sam's recommendations were spot-on, and his genuine warmth made us feel like valued guests. In a world where finding the perfect seafood spot can be a challenge, Shaking Crabs truly stands out. It's more than just a restaurant; it's an experience that combines delectable flavors with an ambiance that wraps you in comfort. Whether you're a seafood lover or just looking for a memorable meal, I wholeheartedly recommend Shaking Crabs. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

So on a fluke, my wife and I passed this place and decided to try it out for lunch. Nice looking place, but that's about it. Let's start with the walking in part. So the staff is sitting at the bar eating Chinese food from a restaurant nearby. Chances are if you see the staff eating food from elsewhere, go with your gut and don't eat there. Which is something I should've done.... They don't carry coffee, just tea. My wife ordered a hot tea (no selection other than plain lipton black tea) okay. So they don't have hot cups, but rather serve hot tea in a red plastic cup. Besides it being extremely hot as there's no handle, since it's red and see through, you can't see how dark the tea is. I ordered the fried shrimp (breaded) and my wife ordered the mussels and shrimp. The waitress asked her if she wanted head on or off on the shrimp, and she opted for the off. When we got the food, nothing seemed to surprise me. My shrimp was beer battered, not breaded. Seems as if the waitress doesn't know the difference. My wife's food was just steamed with ZERO flavor. We're not much to complain or make people feel bad, so we just ate it, unhappily.

Now let's get to the manager. So this location plays a variety of music which is very cool to listen to. NOT to listen to the manager singing while she sits in her chair by the door and never moves around. But the following is something I don't comprehend whatsoever. Three (3) people walked in while we were eating and advised that they were having a party of eleven (11) people. Now my wife and I were the only table in there and you would think that they would love the business. Wrong. The manager tells them that with a party of 11 or more people, they need to pay $50 upfront, in CASH ONLY for the group. Not only that, but that $50 is NOT removed from the bill at the end, sort of how a deposit would work. In addition, they were told that for a party of 11 or more they were REQUIRED to pay a 20% gratuity. The manager also said to the party "don't try and say you're only 5 people and then another group of 6 come in, we're not dumb here". Let me just say this, ARE YOU F*CKING KIDDING ME?!?!?! WHAT KIND OF MANAGER ARE YOU? Let alone the stupidity of the $50 cash thing upfront, but how do you talk to customers or potential customers like that? So what did that group of ELEVEN (11) people do? That's right! They walked out the door and went rlse where. Good for them!

It seems as if all they are here is money hungry, in the sense that when I got my bill instead of writing thank you on it or not writing anything for that matter, they just CIRCLED the tip suggestions. And if that isn't enough, they charge you $1.00 for "head off" on the shrimp. Something which should be standard, however if it's not, the waitress should tell you there's a stupid charge like this or the stupid charge should be mentioned on the menu.

Do yourself a favor, and just forget place exists. It...

Terrible!! Beware. FOOD POISONING, ooof! Even without the food poisoning, it was a terrible experience service wise. I came on a Saturday evening with my cousin who was visiting town. The place was pretty busy so I'm thinking ok, should be decent. We asked if we could eat at the bar and were told yes. So we sit there, order some drinks, go to order, only to learn we cannot order the boils. No big deal, we move to a table when it became available. I ordered the crab leg boil and clams with sausage, corn and potatoes. He ordered the fried shrimp and fries. My food came wayyyyyyy before his (I was done eating over 20 minutes before his arrived). When my food arrived, I tasted the clams and immediately thought they tasted off so I sent them back. The waitress offered to put another order through, but by this time I'm turned off, no thanks. I only wish I didn't eat the rest. But, sad face, I did. The crab legs did not taste the freshest, but I figured probably because frozen. The sausage was the taste and consistency of an Oscar Meyer wiener ran under a hot water faucet. The corn was forgotten. When the fried food finally arrived, it was extremely greasy and inedible. Oh and I forgot the most enjoyable part of the evening was when a fight broke out between patrons, lol. This was actually a welcome relief to the overall experience. At least it was entertaining. Come 2:30am, I will spare you the details, but it was not pretty. I was completely out of commission all day Sunday and had to call in work Monday and Tuesday. Thanks Shaking Crab, you should be shut...
