Ive been to this location several times. There are two sales people usually there. One is very sweet, helpful and has very good energy. The other i usually see who seems to be some sort of store manager or at least a keyholder, is rude, has a very cold sales-only oriented attitude. The first time I came in, the nicer sales woman helped me pick out some gift sets and soaps that matched and actually helped me find things that suited my needs. She didn't ring me up though, the rude one did and while I was at the cash wrap she kept trying to upsell me. I get it, thats your job, but the tactic she was using was really rushed and uncomfortable especially because I was already dealing with a salesman on the floor. Today I walked in needed a small easy to carry hand cream because I had gotten an even smaller one off of the recommendation of the nicer sales woman the last time I was there. So I walk up, said hello and asked where to find it and this was right as they opened. She coldly and rudely pointed to them and then let me know there was a bigger one. I said no it's ok because I liked the smaller one for light weight travel. She then said "well that one is for traveling" I said "no thank you I don't want to carry this one around because it's a bit heavier I like how light this one is" and the size she showed me was double to triple the size and in a metal tube. so significantly heavier as opposed to the light plastic tube i was getting. Now I humored her I looked at the price and even thought of buying both of them, until she OPENLY to my face rolled her eyes and went "OK-". Legitimately like snapping at me. ive never had a salesman in a luxury boutique so rudely act this way towards me. Like literally rolled her eyes. I really couldn't believe it. Like I get that starting the day with a 14 dollar AUS is aggravating but how about think of your conversion. I helped your bottom line. I could have spent nothing at all. And it's ironic because I literally was going to buy the second bottle to have for home until then when I asked to use my account she also seemed to not like that I had one. Anyone can be sold too, I came in to spend money and if she would have thought about her reaction to me, and treated me kindly, she would have made a bigger sale. Kindness and a smile goes a long way. It's a lesson in approaching your clients with empathy and understanding, trying to actually help their needs. Now I had plans to come back and replenish my entire set of almonde products for my body care and now I'll just go to another location. And the worst part about it is managers read reviews like this and laugh or scoff but these things add up to help you meet your monthly plan and scoffing at small purchases and customers to their face shows you have no empathy for your clients and proves how bad of a...
Read moreCustomer service at the World Trade Center location (185 Greenwich Street, NYC) was absolutely horrible! If I could give this 0 stars, I would. I was there last week for a return and the sales rep (I believe her name is Carpio; she didn't have a name tag on, but it's a name I see on my return receipt. The supervisor honored the return at the end, but this was not an easy process!) gave me so many issues. I purchased the Divine Youth Oil a little over a week ago, wanted to like it, but had to return it as the skin on my face did not agree with it. Carpio asked me what the reason for return was and I told her exactly that. She gave me such a stunned look as though she's never heard of those words before. She then proceeds to open the bottle of oil and test it out on her hand. She made a look on her face and told me that it was watery. She then asked me if I added any water to it. This was very offensive and I said no. She tested it out on another part of her hand again and compared it with their tester and again tells me that the one I'm returning is watery. She asked her supervisor, Chante, to come over to do the test between the two items and Chante was very quick to agree with Carpio. Carpio looks over her shoulder at another coworker who was sitting in the back room (I couldn't see her name tag or if she even had one); the coworker says "store credit." Carpio then relays the information to me. Of course I cannot agree to that because it would be unfair for me to not get the return in the original payment method when it was not my issue that the item I purchased happened to be "watery," which I still cannot agree to because it felt silky when I applied it to my skin. Carpio continued to push the store credit onto me and I continued to say "no" to that. I further explained that with a little knowledge of science, one should know that if water is added to oil, the end product would not be a perfect mixture, as we all know that oil and water do not mix. I continued to explain to Carpio that if I had added water to the product, the oil would be sitting separately on top of the water and as anyone can see, nothing in that bottle was separated. I was very much done with talking to Carpio and told her that she can contact L'Occitane's headquarters to escalate this issue. She then asked her supervisor, Chante, to assist me with the return. Chante looked over at Carpio and said "you know how these things are," proceeded to do the return, and didn't bother saying anything to me.
This horrible experience left such a foul taste in my mouth. It was a complete insult to my intelligence and overall being. I will never again give this store my hard...
Read moreI cannot stress how much I love the L'Occitane brand and it’s wonderful members! I’ll get to the products later. The workers I met at the World Trade Center were so nice and welcoming! I only met them once but I think of them as family. I want to go back for them alone. Ok now the gorgeous products. I’ve gotten a bunch of products and everything is so moisturizing! Although it’s just one of their smaller products, my personal favorites are their lip care products and their hair care products. My lips stay moisturized all day and night and smell great! With the shampoo and conditioner my hair is incredibly soft and I can’t stop sniffing my own hair. I’m only 19 but their moisturizers make me look and feel younger thanks to their main ingredient which I was given. They use immortelle flowers for immortal youth! Don’t even get me started on their refusal of animal testing and the fact that they encourage recycling their products! They make their products refillable so you don’t have to discard their containers every time! I’m in love with this brand and the employees. You will not regret buying from this brand. Not only is it luxurious but it’s also...
