Went in to check out a specific Yankees hoodie that I had been interested in for awhile. It was hanging on the front wall right near the door, and every time I touched it, the security tag set off the alarm. I’ve worked retail management for many years, so I understand that goes with the territory.
But when the workers came over, they literally told me not to touch the hoodie anymore. I said I was turning it around to look at the back, and also wanted to find out the price, and they just glared at me and said a second time, “stop moving it” and walked away from me.
I still never found out the price because they refused to help me, but judging from other similar hoodies in the store, I’m guessing it would be around $80-100. I just moved to the city and would be buying not just that hoodie, but probably several other Yankees items in the near future as well.
But after being treated like that, I won’t be spending any money at this location. I’ll try to get them online or from another business instead. Again, I totally understand how annoying security tags can be both for customers AND employees, but there’s no excuse for them literally telling a potential customer to stop looking at a (fairly expensive) item they are getting ready...
