I came into this Macy’s yesterday with my mom to buy her a wedding dress. After trying on a few dresses we decided to locate the register to check out her two favorite ones. When we arrived we were being assisted by a young lady…please forgive me if I’m terrible with names but this was on the second floor of the woman’s dress section. I believe the time on my receipt said 6:18pm. she was a beautiful young lady and looked of Mexican descent. She was nice and seemed like she wanted to help . The problem was the second dress not having a price tag. but ,it’s not uncommon for the cashier to type it in manually to which she seemed to be doing ….but ,she got a little nervous and asked the young lady standing at a register located behind her for help . The woman who came to assist her was a young Haitian- American lady with braids. I thought she came to assist us to but boy was I wrong! She automatically got dismissive and said “ you can’t buy this dress , it’s not in the system! I responded to her saying “ I know you have a line but …my mom really wants this dress so is it possible for you to call a manager while we step to the side please? She said “ I just saw one pass by ..go look over there “ While she was pointing me away from her I realized She had a walkie in her hand and immediately asked her to page a manager again..for the 2nd time .. but she continued to ignore my request and said “ the manager can’t help you either! I don’t like dealing with rude and useless cashiers so I walked over to a gentlemen I saw working in another section and explained to him that I had an issue that required a manager’s attention. He seemed engaged and ready to help us check out ..that is until the young lady with the braids came walking up to him and started telling him not to help us and not to call a manager either. She stood with him to assure that I would not approach him again and I stayed away from her because I didn’t want the tension to escalate. Do you know I watched her tell this young man that me and my mom was “annoying and “weird”! I could only imagine she didn’t want the manager called at all at that point. I was mortified…once again I kept my composure and walked up to her and said” since you’re not busy can you call your manager now ? Almost immediately not 1 but 2 angels named Chris and another beautiful African American came to my rescue ❤️ When the managers arrived she changed her tune. She wasn’t checking us out initially but she was the one giving us dirty looks and plenty of disrespect. The beautiful thing is Chris gave us 20 percent off for noticeable damage to the dress and the woman approved us at the register. The managers that helped my yesterday deserves a raise ! I wanted to finish this by informing you that when the rude young lady with the braids was checking us out she still had an aggressive attitude after the manager walked away and she asked my mom for her birthday and phone number and other sensitive information saying it was for the purchase and hopes she is not targeted...
Read moreThis seems like the perfect place to start my day family! Macy's was such a huge part of my life as a child and has remained one of my favorite stores of all times to shop in. Does Macys tell Gimbels the real_ 411 sure as Sherlock Holmes.. WE real people still do! :) I miss shopping it has been so many years now of not being able to. Shopping on line can and never will replace the beautiful interactions that comes from the journey to the destination of a fun shopping experience. The people you meet the salespeople you encounter the lifetime dram that can unexpectedly unfold into lifetime memories. Our amazing mom used to take my sisters and I on the A train to downtown Brooklyn, from our hometown Rockaway Beach. Every Christmas season to wait for hours to see Santa and ride the most beautiful incredible merry go round. That Macys had right in the middle of the store! And every single child received a small gift. It was simply magical and it has the feel of Miracle on 34 Street to me every time I think back on it. What if our train operators were not there? What if our sales clerks were replaced with ai clones mannequins come to life. What if just like the Disney film Wall_e know one ever came out into the world any longer. Where would the fun and joy of living be in that? Years later at our local mall in Bridgewater, NJ a small child ran full force into a rack and really hurt her eye. As the small precious child laid in my arms as we waited for the ER team to get there. Her frantic grand ma not being able to handle the situation and our store clerks not allowed by law to intervene. I witnessed the best and worst of humanity. The parents so happy and thankful for my help that day had sent me flowers in gratitude. They wanted me to testify against Macys in their obvious intent to begin a law suit. I politely refused to do so and wished them well. It was not Macy's fault the child had the terrible mishap life happens. When they finally release my rightful Mallen inheritance I am hoping and praying I can give people the gift of the joy of shopping in person once again. By partnering with local outreach youth centers to help meet the needs of our communities with gift certificates.
We have made life far too difficult for anyone to live comfortably any longer. An much of that has happened because of the need for greed of far too many for far too long. We all need lower prices so we can live in a peaceful healthy environment of enjoying the gift that freedom allots U.S.
Long live Macy's a fabulous store of quality employees and really great sales racks of fabulous fashions! Love and...
Read moreHad a really disappointing experience today at the Macy’s Kings Plaza shoe section with an employee named Nicole. I had selected several pairs of shoes, most of which were unavailable in my size. Two pairs were available in sizes 8 and 8.5, so I asked for both — one pair in size 8 and the other in size 8.5. When I later approached Nicole to ask about the other shoe for the 8.5, she responded dismissively and acted as though I was mistaken. I calmly explained that there may have been a misunderstanding, but she replied, “We have no misunderstanding — you were supposed to retrieve the other shoe.”
This response was confusing and unprofessional, as I had clearly handed her the shoe for the pair I was requesting. When she began to feel the pressure, she suddenly claimed that the “guys in the back” couldn’t find the other shoe — the same shoe she had just said I never asked for. When the two young men working in the back approached the counter, she asked them in front of me, seemingly trying to prove a point, “The other 8.5 shoe wasn’t available, right?” They looked confused and unsure of what she was referring to, as it was clear she had never given them the shoe to begin with. It was obvious she had misunderstood my request and was now trying to justify her mistake.
I then, out of frustration, said that she was clearly confused and didn’t know which shoe I was referring to, as her story kept changing and she continued to make excuses. To make matters worse, she mockingly responded that I was “right,” even though I was simply trying to find the shoes I needed for work.
Thankfully, another associate named Kayla kindly assisted me and checked all the shoes that had been scanned and sent to the back. Unsurprisingly, the size 8.5 pair I was asking for was never sent to the back, confirming that Nicole had indeed misunderstood and mishandled the situation.
Nicole’s behavior — from her dismissive attitude to her unwillingness to take responsibility — reflects poor customer service and a lack of professionalism. I appreciate Kayla’s help and patience, but I felt it was important to report this experience as it left me frustrated and disappointed. I hope appropriate steps are taken to ensure better customer service...
