I have been a customer of Charleyâs since it was installed at Kings Plaza Mall. I donât often go to Kings Plaza like I used to but almost every time I do âŚ.. I make a stop at Charleyâs. I was there yesterday at around 3pm and my daughter and I order cheesesteak, BBQ wings, bacon cheddar fries and a plain fries. My number was 68. (Hopefully this detailed information would cause Charleyâs to review their security video and take immediate action). When I walked in no one was placing an order. Which is odd because there is always a line, but it was in between lunch and dinner, so we thought we just caught a lucky break! As I am asking my daughter what she would like, the woman behind the register is yellingâŚ.no SCREAMING, NEXT, NEXT, NEXT , NEXT, NEXTâŚ.like a maniac. Iâm standing 2 ft in front of her and she can see Iâm speaking to my daughter. No one is behind us so why is she SCREAMING?! I begin to place my order and follow up with my daughterâs order. I pay with Apple Pay and she tells me my number. I ask her for a receipt and she seems annoyed that I ask but I finally get one. There are two people at the register, and by this time a line to order begins to develop. I step to the side and wait for our order to be prepared. After waiting about 15-20 minutes I realize I hear a customer say, âis that 69? I wanted honey mustard on thatâ I hear one of the 3 people working the grill and add on area tell her can I put it on the side? I already rolled it up.â The customer said no Iâd like it on the sandwich. The man working the grill said, no sheâs getting it on the side, and stops working the grill to put honey mustard into a cup. Why? Isnât that what the other two employees are there for? To dress up the sandwiches with the additional options? At this point the orders are coming in quickly. Then I hear 70, 71âŚ..so Iâm like wait, where was 68? I could see the wings may take a little longer but I see wings are in other peoples orders. A woman came by with a child to ask for the key to the bathroom and one of the employees gave her the key, with a smile. The man on the grill begins to reprimanded her for giving the key out. She begins to tell the grill man, she knows them, and he calms down. All of a sudden with all the people in the store, the man on the grill goes in the back for 5 minutes. When he returns I ask him, do you have 68? He grunts and starts speaking to the other two employees and begins making the sandwich. The person who took my order tells him the wings were already done and sitting on top of the bread toaster. Thatâs when I notice raw chicken was sitting in a container on the counter. As the grill man is finishing my sandwich, I realize the other two employees have already put mayo, lettuce and tomato on the bread, none of which I asked for! The girl grabs the wings and the cheese fries and puts them in a bag. The grill man proceeded to put the meat on the bread and the girl begins to roll the sandwich while looking at the screen of orders and DROPS MY SANDWICH ON THE FLOOR! She picks it up and continues to wrap it up. Put it in the bag and call â68â. Iâm standing right in front of her! Looking at her like are you serious?! Between the chicken wings that clearly had been sitting out, and this woman dropping my sandwich on the floor, I was so mad, I couldnât even speak. I grabbed the food and left! Not even realizing they forgot one of my fries! I obviously threw the food away and ended up going to Brooklyn Beef and Cheese which is close by and WAY better! If I could give this less than 1 star, I would. But I had to share my experience. Itâs unfortunate that this disaster of an experience has lost a customer!    Read moreI went in first week of Sept 2023, to the Charlie's Restaurant in Kings Plaza Brooklyn New York my son had gone to the one on Staten Island New York and was very happy with it so he said let's try the one in Brooklyn I went into the restaurant and ordered two large cheese steak sandwiches the biggest ones for $11.99 which is fine they're pretty good price then we upgraded the combo for $3.48 for Basket of Fry's and regular soft drink. When it came time to pay their sandwiches were two at $11.99 fine but the combos price were at $5.58, clearly $2 more, I was being charged $4 extra dollars instead of $3.48. At $5.48 I was told by the cashier that because it was a large sandwich the prices more expensive and I said look behind your head at the sign there is no mention of different prices, it shows a picture of a Basket French Fry Basket and a medium soft drink and it says above $3.48 upgrade combo, I do not expect to pay an additional $2, she therefore reduced it $1 to $4. 48 and again I said $3.48, let's get the manager here, the cashier was dumbfounded, did not know how to react to this, the manager on the other hand, was even worse, turned around and looked at me and he said well it's a larger order, I said no, your sign does not say anything about change in combo price, this is the same like Burger King or McDonald's, it's a combo price, that's what I'm going to pay, it doesn't matter if I got medium or large it's the same price unless you list it that all the customers can see, otherwise that's bait and switch, or false advertising. you know better, so he turned around and said fine and change the price of $3.48 but said your fries can't be in a basket they have to be in a small cup. I looked at him and I said I don't understand the picture shows clearly a french fry basket and it says regular size soft drink but he said no it's it comes only with extra small fries at that price and he got me the extra small cup and put eight to nine maybe 10 pieces of french fries in there, it was ridiculous! The rest of the restaurant, that I noticed that every table got regular size fries we got these baby cup fries I don't want to argue I paid it that's why I'm making a complaint. I expect something to become of this, the truth is I expect a full refund, I do have the receipt and I can upload it to you guys, this is so inappropriate I couldn't believe it, this is how the restaurant handles this, I think it's this particular restaurant, this particular manager, I pay full price for the sandwiches and I paid full price for the combo which was $3.48 and I got mistreated we sat down we enjoyed the food, the sandwiches themselves were I will say neutral it could have been made a lot better my son said the one in Staten Island was far superior The Charley restaurant really made a good looking sandwich, well put together. I try to make a purchase with my debit card but for some reason it wasnât working.The cashier said the transaction isnât going through but letâs give it a second because they have been having issues all day. I told her I can pay cash. I did and then the receipt printed and as I was leaving my notifications came in that I just made a purchase by debit. I returned to the cashier and showed her my receipt She said well it didnât go through, but if for any reason you can call the store and we will rectify it. I waited until today March 8,2022 and review my bank statement. Which shows that the transition have been finalized. I call today at 9:53 am to speak with someone with professional managerial Capabilities to hand my issue, a gentle answer the phone. I greeted him morning, may I speak with a manager/supervisor. He then ask who is this. I said a customer who had an issue with payment at the register. He said what store, I replied the store at Kings Plaza Mall. He said go to the store then. I was trying to explain to him that I can and at this moment his attitude and tone is RUDE, he hung up on me. I call back asking to speak to someone else or hear me out. He states WRONG NUMBER.
