There isnât enough space in one review to tell how disappointed I am in the service I received from the Menâs Wearhouse on Richmond Avenue. My son booked eight groomsmen to rent for his wedding. I also purchased a tuxedo for my son the groom my husband also rented a tuxedo. I am only going to speak to the issues I had with the purchase of my son, since the wedding didnât happen yet, so I donât know if theyâll be any problems with the groomsmen. My son was measured by someone at the store and charged over $100 for alterations. No problem but when we came back the entire suit was incorrect admittedly by the stores staff, he was re-measured again and a whole new tuxedo made. Upon again coming back for the new tuxedo. It was wrong again this time the pants hadnât been shortened . Have to come back again. Now six days before the wedding we come back again this time the rest of the suit is OK but the sleeves of the suit jacket which they told us should show the French cuffs they upsold us on, weâre now too long and the shirt did not show at all. Ok come back again. There is always different people handling you so no one takes full responsibility. The last person was a young man named Nick, who was blatantly disrespectful and annoyed that we were frustrated. Clearly no one in this boys life has ever told him that impatience and flippancy are ugly traits in life and unacceptable in the service industry. As a side note there is a man named Rich who seems to know what he is doing but is passive in whatever role he assumes in this establishment. He was helpful and respectful but the entire experience was stressful and amateur. Corporate...
Read moreI had many problems here.
When I first came, they could not find the wedding that had been registered with them and had to search for like 20 minutes before they could find it (despite us even having the registration number).
They measured me, found a suit, told me they would alter it, and I bought the suit and paid for the alterations.
They did not notify me when the suit was ready to be picked up. Finally, after hearing nothing, I called them and gave them my name and it took another 20 minutes on the phone of them telling me they had no record of me, before I finally found the number they needed.
Then, when I went to pick up the suit, it was huge! Like three sizes too big. I tried it on at home and looked ridiculous. My wife laughed at me and said I looked like an unemployed layabout who had to borrow his dad's ill-fitting suit for an interview. We face-timed the bride to confirm that she was not interested in having a clown wedding, and then returned to the store to see what they could do to make it right.
I explained the situation to the employee there, all he had to say was "you purchased this" and "you can't alter a 44 to fit a 38" (no kidding...) eventually we did an exchange for a 40" (without alterations) and the sleeves are going to be too big, but there's no time to do anything about that.
Long story short, they don't know how to size suits here. The incompetence of both employees I had the displeasure to interact with was exceeded only by their unprofessionalism, and I do not recommend any bride or groom entrust their wedding to men's wearhouse unless they are going with a...
Read moreEntered Mens Wearhouse (Richmond Avenue- Staten Island) on 4/10/25. Greeted by Carlos and things went downhill from there. He was brusque, impatient, distracted and annoyed. Apparently he wants the customer to make a decision on which suit to buy (at inflated prices) in under five minutes, or else he loses interest. There was other customers in the store at the time; yet, he walked away several times to hang newly arrived suits on the wall across the store. He got noticeably annoyed when I respectfully told him that I appreciated his advice, but I preferred the regular length as opposed to the short which he had suggested. On at least his fourth "walk away" to let me know that he was unhappy with me not immediately buying the suit he suggested, I began to walk out of the store. He flippantly said sorry we couldn't help you. I stayed that it was more his piss poor attitude causing my departure than the poor selection and inflated prices. I stated that I would be writing a review to which he indifferently responded ok. Now I've seen a few nice reviews of Carlos which shocked me. I don't think he was having a bad day. I think he is arrogant and dislikes his job. But he'll continue in his rude behavior because management/ownership will impose no consequences. Well Carlos, I went elsewhere and found a much nicer suit for a cheaper price. I hope you take a look in the mirror, reexamine your life and try to treat people better. I have my doubts, but there is...
