We toured multiple apartments listed by Metronest and immediately applied for one that we loved. After three drawn out weeks of almost no communication from Metronest, we were told that not only would each tenant be required to have a guarantor (regardless of salary), but EACH of the 4 guarantors would have to make 60x the entire apartment rent (about $300,000 per person). The average salary in NYC is nowhere near this - who are they expecting to rent these apartments to? We asked if we could apply with two guarantors that met/exceeded the requirements and have them cover the entire apartment, but again we were told that it had to be each individual person with a guarantor who each made $300,000+. These are not luxury buildings in any sense. The apartment we originally applied for, as well as several others we looked at, keep getting re-posted on their site after a couple of days, and we can only assume that it’s because of people having to pull their applications due to the ridiculous guarantor policy. If a person makes 40x the rent, they shouldn’t need a guarantor anyway. It has been a frustrating process with MetroNest, especially when I know that we could have signed a lease with them and paid a month ago if they had any sense. Unless you each have a guarantor and ones with full pockets too, you and your roommates should stay clear...
Read moreI've been looking for a new apartment for 6 months now (challenges getting accepted due to being disabled and on SSA/non-standard income), so I've been in contact with A LOT of managements, brokers, and leasing offices. NO ONE has been as kind and patient with me as MetroNest when I went and toured some apartments at one of their buildings today.
They have been super accommodating answering any questions I've had. I have a friend/aid that drives me around and assists me when I go out due to my disability, and many other buildings I've toured would make them wait outside or in the lobby. I was very pleased that the man in MetroNest leasing at 11 Waverly didn't mind that I had them with me while I looked at the apartments. (I didn't even mention that I'm disabled and they are my aid along with my friend since I've been so hurt about the judgement that I've been getting by other places through this journey---and the leasing person still didn't mind them tagging along.)
Even if I don't end up in one of their buildings and have to continue my search, I'm so happy to have some revived faith in a NYC real estate agency from the kindness I was showed today. Even the security/doorman was extremely...

In March due to Covid-19 we unfortunately needed to move our daughter from NYC where she was a student at The New School back home to Florida. Her lease was ending in June and we needed to figure out a way to pack her things up, move her things out to storage, patch the room up Etc. all without us being there.
I called MetroNest and was able to reach a Tammy Rice. Tammy was very friendly and accommodating from the beginning, you can tell she really wanted to help. This was a relief for us. She referred us to some resources that is helping us with fixing up the apartment. Not only did she put us in touch with the right people, her communication was impeccable, she always responded and was always available. She made sure the workers or movers had access to the apartment at all times. Being from out of town, not knowing people there, this was a relief as logistically it’s not an easy task. Tammy helped that transition become easier especially in a time of uncertainty.
This company helped us through this stressful time and Tammy's customer care was five stars!
I highly recommend...
