If you have been blessed enough to find this amazing place then look no further. I am a normal, middle class, country girl from Virginia who was advised by a co-worker to check out Michael F & Co. I was skeptical, but after hearing my friends story and their purchase from Michael... I started browsing online and fell in love with a piece he had custom made. I didn’t think we would be able to afford anything like I was hoping for, but Michael worked with us for 6 months and in the end I ended up with an exceptional, top of the line, quite nicely sized GORGEOUS diamond with paperwork and a stone that far exceeeded anything we thought we would be able to afford. He came so highly recommended that we did something way out of our comfort zone. My fiancee wired the money for the ring and within days Michael had custom made it and had it delivered via shipping (with insurance). Not only did he have it delivered, but he exceeded our expectations and had it delivered in time (which was a VERY short window being that it was custom made!) for our original wedding date that had been postponed due to the pandemic. He was insistent it would be here if that was when we were supposed to get married whether we actually were going to be or not. He didn’t care. He just wanted to do the best he could on his part. He was even was in contact with my husband to be as he proposed to be sure all went well!!! He truly was that genuine and extremely gracious. It was always so nice to speak with Michael as he was always so kind, polite, and helpful. He truly wants you to love what you buy from him. To say that our experience with Michael was exceptional is an understatement. Also, because we were out of state and it was being shipped... we didn’t have to pay NY taxes which saved a ton of money. He and his daughter Elina were with us every step of the way. They were never pushy and offered very knowledgeable, sound advice with obvious expertise. Also, my friend assured me from their personal experience that Michael stands by his work and will always be present and accommodating should anything arise from the jewelry... and he also exchanges should you decide to upgrade. Quite frankly, my ring is so gorgeous and special I could never exchange it for anything else. Please don’t pass them by. We did our homework and have checked out every online retailer and also many others in person (Diamonds Direct, James Allen, Blue Nile, Jared, Zales, Kay’s, Fink’s)... the list goes on and on. I came into the store 2.5 weeks before my wedding and wanted to get an emerald cut eternity band that's roughly 0.2 carat per stone. Solomon was very friendly, he has the exact ring I'm looking for, but the ring size is too big. Solomon is a very honest salesman. He understands that 0.3 carat per stone would look took big on my finger and that it wouldn't stack too well. So he didn't even try to up sell me. Another sales rep actually pulled out a 0.5 carat per stone eternity band, but Solomon told her it's not going to look good with the look I'm going for.

Solomon explained that he will be making a brand new one for me if I were to decide on getting the wedding band from him. The stone settings on an eternity ring band is hard to alter, the best way is the make a brand new one. The size has to be perfect, if not you will feel uncomfortable with a close grip.

Since my fiancé, now husband, is busy building his business empire and doesn't have time to compare prices. I went to my other jeweler in NJ to compare the prices Solomon gave me. My NJ jeweler was 30% cheaper, but he couldn't deliver in 2 weeks. I went back to Solomon, told him I need his absolute best offer, gave him the quotes I got from my NJ jeweler, and Solomon was able to come close to the amount I'm asking for. It was slightly higher than my NJ jeweler, but Solomon was able to make a brand new ring in a week, and the clarity is slightly higher. I received my ring the day before my wedding and everything was perfect. It came in a really nice box too.

Solomon is an honest man. He was really nice and offered to polish and clean my engagement ring and other jewelry I was wearing that day. I would highly recommend going back to Solomon, just don't take his first offer that seriously. Unless he's going to change his sales strategy after reading this review :)

But in general, if you're shopping for diamonds in Diamond District, I would highly recommend comparing prices before committing to the sales. All the jewelers share the same GIA diamond inventory. And it's always better to have a ring made to your specific size. ie: 5...

I recently purchased our diamond engagement ring from Michael and his daughter Elina. We already had some ideas ahead of time about the cuts and settings we were interested in through online stores, but we wanted to see them in person to make our decision. Michael F & Co came highly recommended from a friend so we gave them a call and they were able to prepare stones and settings for us to view that same day.

With their help expert guidance we were able to narrow the search down to the exact stone and setting we wanted in only three visits. Elina worked extra hard to get multiple stones extremely similar to what I had found online, and we were able to see them in person and compare variations in depth, table, and the four C's for our princess cut and pick one that had the right aesthetics for our tastes. The one we ended up picking was something that Elina had hand picked as being exceptional for the price range we were looking at, and closely matching our specifications.

After picking out the ring, Michael and his associates were able to get it set, engraved and shipped in a remarkably short time frame. The whole process took less than two weeks. There was some time pressure on the ring, and they surely delivered. I was expecting and willing to pay a premium for the level of in-store service they provided compared to the popular online retailers, but the prices were surprisingly competitive. I see no reason to choose a online retailer over Michael F. They were very professional and easy to work with through the whole process.

They also provide great post sale support. The somewhat top heavy ring tended to rotate my finance's finger due to her finger shape. They were able to get her sorted with fitment beads the same day she brought it in. Thank you...
