After receiving PT here last year for a shoulder injury, I drove past here recently and remembered my experience. I wanted to leave an anonymous review with an alias name without my personal info displayed because I've heard some places may try to respond/argue with reviews in their feedback. Here was my experience. ... The physical therapists at this office were kind & attentive. The PT assistants were also very nice. I think the Physical therapists see multiple patients at a time due to multiple bookings at the same time & I have noticed 4 or five patients being seen by only 2 physical therapist, alternating between aides and therapists. Not uncommon. The gym space is small and felt perhaps a bit crowded -nevertheless efficient. Slight downside to me was the small space felt less private. Upside: the PT's & Aides maintained positive attitudes & were mostly courteous.
Parking is easy to find and is metered. This location is also wheelchair accessible but there is little space to navigate & I doubt there would be adequate space in the small waiting area to keep a wheelchair without it being in the way. This may not be a problem though because 1 or 2 chairs might be moved for accommodation (hopefully).
... While I did have an ok experience getting treatment here, I was disappointed by the office manager & it significantly lowered my opinion of this place.
I'm not one to argue or speak up much but I did feel she was very unpleasant. I believe she lacked patient-service skills when speaking to me and often came off abrupt, rude, and argumentative during some of our interactions. I found it very unpleasant, unprofessional, & lacking in office-etiquette.
The physical therapists and aides, however, were courteous and friendly, but one thing that I found awkward is that I was asked by staff on 2-3 consecutive sessions, if I would please leave a google review. It wasn't impolite to do so but I felt uncomfortable because I was asked on several follow-up visits if I had left a google review yet. I found that unprofessional.
After reading other reviews I noticed many high ratings. I don't doubt that many others had positive experiences but I nevertheless believe that we all have our own personal experiences. I wanted to rate this place higher but my experience with the manager was disappointing & left a sour taste for me, so I simply don't wish to return because of a possible repeat. Despite my experience though, not everyone will feel the same. Some may have a wonderful experience while others may not. I still believe this place has good intentions in providing...
Read moreIt would be difficult to simply summarize the life-changing experience I found my regimen at Millennium Physical Therapy to be. I entered into the process optimistic but also realistic, knowing as good as this team was that they were working with physiology and not miracles! However, my hopes had been met and far exceeded (whilst ongoing nerve spasm work was understandably recomended). I worked 3-times a week with these fantastic practitioners in building a short and long term path toward sustaining and maintaining my mobility and independence...a bit of solace in response to spinal stenosis, disc degeneration, nerve conpression, limited movement, and natural-therapeutic chronic pain relief.
I was provided self empowering and initiating exercises to bring home in efforts to build on progress. I share with complete candor that it is an important, challenging, and in some cases - scary step to move forward with the work involved in emotionally and physically managing old and recent injuries (along with the ongoing). Yet I implore you to entrust this highly trained, incredibly capable, warm, and caring group. Each and every part of your team will prove important - and will see you as such. They take what you are going to heart and do the same with your custom treatment.
My experience has left me feeling less like surgery of several areas of the spine is the sole answer (for now)...but instead feeling stronger in a rounded way...and supported in a revised outlook of what I am capable of despite how limiting and painful spinal conditions and degeneration can be. There is hope, there are dedicated people to offer as many avenues as possible, and there is much to gain - please, give it a shot! Information and therapy is all within reach, the decision to try something totally new is right before you. Learn, contemplate, ponder, and try again. Your very health is at stake. Please do share your experience on these boards.
Warmest...
Read moreMy Dr prescribed PT for lower back pain and sciatica in the left leg. I was skeptical at first bc I couldn't see how stretches & exercises could really help. I was fortunate to have Shreya & Valerie as my therapists, with Valerie being my primary therapist. They are skilled, knowledgeable & very good at what they do. After 2 months of PT, I am not at 100 % but I definitely noticed a good amount of improvement.
I was stretched, treated with a TENS unit, heating pad, a nerve massage machine, and my favorite part..... the lower back massage :) Then it was some core strengthening exercises on the therapy table & some more exercises in their small gym area. It all seemed repetitive but it was slowly doing its job. I appreciated how they would stop me in the middle of an exercise to correct my form. And they would suggest a few added exercises to do at home. It's key to do the exercise & stretches every day, not just on your PT days.....it further helps with your recovery.
From Jessica at the front desk, to the assistants & aides & therapists..... they are a quality staff who work hard to assist in your recovery. They are friendly and can read the room when it comes to chatting or keeping it mellow. Absolutely recommend MPT in Bay Ridge. Thank you to everyone! :) ...
