UNSKILLED, UNSANITARY, UNPROFESSIONAL and do not care for your eye/eyelash health. I do NOT recommend because the employees prioritize speed and making $$$ instead of giving you a long lasting set that does not harm your natural lashes.
More details below:
Red flag (RF) #1: RUSHED. The lady did my set in 1 hour, 10 min consult + 45 minutes service + 5 min drying. I got a 3D volume full set which at licensed and trained salons should take at least 1.5 hours to do correctly. I know Bc I have been getting my lash extensions for 5+ years now but sadly my old salon shut down do to the pandemic. Salons that take their time show they are detailed oriented and place 1-2 extensions MAX per natural lash or use thin lashes to make volume fans to keep the lashes light weight. Zoe (who did my lashes at Miu) put 3-6 regular lashes on 1-2 of my natural lashes to speed up the process....
Why is this a problem? Your natural lashes grow at difference paces. On day 1, they will look perfect. On day 5+ your lashes will grow out and push on the other lashes they are glued to making it a very very uncomfortable experience. You'll want to rip your lashes out at this point.
(The salon even has a photo of the lash growth cycle in their salon! It's ironic they have this posted but will rush the glueing process to fit more customers in)
RF #2: LACK SKILL AND TECHNIQUE. I noticed this shortly after the service and returned to Miu to get this fixed. What Zoe should have done is removed these extensions to redo part of the service to place 1-2 extensions per natural lash. She did not. Instead, she went in with tweezers to physically separate the extensions and natural lash. This caused my natural lashes to rip and break off.
The two employees explained to me that "at their salon, this is how it's done." However, basic lash extension 101 is to place the extensions on individual natural lashes to protect the lash health, and for maximum comfort for the customer. There are of course stylistic differences among lash extensions however, the whole point of lash extensions are to place the extensions on 1 natural lash because natural lashes grow/fall at different rates.
RF#3: AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE. When I came to get my lashes fixed, Zoe knew she installed clumped lashes but put the blame on me. She said I brushed them too much. She also put the burden on me to guide her to separate each clump. I had to keep one eye open and one eye closed as she combed through the lashes. I had to say "yes this lash" and ONLY THEN would she make the appropriate fix...She is suppose to be the professional yet I am the one guiding her? Imagine going to the auto repair shop and the employees ASK YOU how to fix your tire as if they cannot see which tire is flat. Or imagine you go to the hair salon and the employee tells you to hold their hands as they complete your hair cut.
RF #4: UNSANITARY. They do not sanitize the beds between customers. Also, no hand sanitizer or sanitation of tools are used between service.
RF#5: UNPROFESSIONAL. The employees attitudes are very indifferent and evasive. I speak mandarin so it was not a language or cultural difference. Zoe was also on her phone while...
Read moreHORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE...STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE, I am certain all of these reviews on here are fake. Let me tell you how bad this place is, save your money. I went there last Saturday April 13th. I arrived on time. I choose the eyelashes I wanted, please beware that they don't have options. They have two options, regular mink & 3-D eyelashes. They try to upset you on to do their 3-D lashes which is ridiculously $40 extra...mind you they charge you $110 for a regular set. They kept trying to upsell me and I said no I just want the regular, and if these are good, ill come back and get the 3-D. I ended up staying an hour, afterwards they didn't look bad, it was 90 lashes. They didn't look full AT ALL though. I've been to eyelash places that had 80 pieces per eye and they were super full. The very next day, 3-4 lashes started falling out, by the end of the week 5-7 lashes were falling out EVERYDAY. So I called them, they kept making excuses as to why they were falling out, saying its the way I take care of them. Nope I've been to plenty of lash places and NEVER had them fall out this quickly. They requested a picture, so I sent them a picture and than said they look fine. I told them they don't they look horrible! They said you can come in for a refill for $30 . I said absolutely not I am not paying anything additional for your lack of professionalism. They said they can't let me come without paying. They did absolutely nothing to resolve the problem. Please save your money, go to a different eyelash place its not worth it. They don't do a good job, they don't serve their customers well & when talking to the man on the phone, he was rude and brushed me off....
Read moredid not have the best experience, heres why, ill start with the goods and explain the bad. They do give a full set and fill up the eyes with lashes so they look full and “luscious”. The bad: they glue 3 of your own lashes to the false lash extension so when your real lashes begin to fall out, the fake lash is holding on to it as well as the other real lashes so this causes pain because you feel it tugging. Also the glue is visible on the bottom of the lashes, its white and hard which also causes pain. I am very disappointed I saw all these good reviews and expected a similar experience. They’re nothing special. Oh and I purchased the $30 groupon offer which was a full set of mink lashes for first time customers, when I got there the guy had told me that the $30 was for the cheaper extensions that are plastic and also hurt your natural lashes and are painful when on and told me to spend an extra $40 for the softer mink lashes that look more natural and are easier on the lashes. I did see a big difference because i felt both lashes but either way, the ones he encouraged me to get wound up being painful because of the issue i stated above, he also encouraged me to do a D curl which I feel was due to maybe a shortage of having the other curls. Any ways Dont purchase a groupon honestly no point if they’re going to make you spend the same in the store.
UPDATE: about to lay down and i feel a lot of pain on my left eye towards the end of my eye lid, i go to feel what it is and its crust with the lashes, i try to take the crust off and it pulls off the false lashes AS WELL AS MY NATURAL ONES!! BEYOND DEVASTATED. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!! save your lashes and your money!!! go...
