Union Canaan Cafe & Bakery | 유니온 가나안 카페 & 베이커리 — Restaurant in New York

I had a most horrific experience at this place today! I urge everyone whether Korean or not to not patronize this place as there are so many better Korean bakeries in the area such as Tous les Jours on same Union Street. I went in to Canaan Bakery on Union St at 5:20pm on Wednesday, 10/26. I didn't want to use a tray since I was buying only 2 donuts, so I grabbed two pieces of papers out of the box that was left out in the common area. When I brought my items to the cashier, an older short haired woman scolded me, "why did you pull those papers?". I replied because I didn't want to touch the foods with my bare hands and didn't want to use a tray since I was buying only 2. She yelled and shouted at me, materials price went up so much and I can't use those papers. If they didn't want customers to use papers, why did they place the box on the common area? Then, she snatched papers out of my hands and threw it on the counter behind her. When I asked for a bag, she slammed the papers on the counter telling me to wrap my donuts because she wasn't going to give me a bag. While I was wrapping, she shouted at me, "YOU HAVE TO LEAVE RIGHT NOW BECAUSE WE CLOSE AT 5:30 AND I HAVE TO START CLEANING!" Two people walked in as I turned around to leave, and this evil woman didn't say anything to them such as "we are closed or we are closing soon". I came home and threw out the donuts because it had such bad energy of this evil woman. She must be mentally ill to behave in such unreasonable, obnoxiously crazy way. came here for dimsum on a sunday. i must have come super late since it was empty and the food carts were already packing up to go. the dimsum is decent, the prices are decent. but that's all it is. there isn't any wow factor here..except the fact that the receipt CLEARLY says NO TIP REQUIRED! what???? no way!! owell we tipped anyway since it was a few bucks only. downstairs however, there is a make shift shop that sells food to go. that's the only wow factor here, so i'd be willing to try that out one day! parking around here is a PAIN even at 2pm...

I was there with my friends. One of my friends ordered the delicious drinks for us. It's strawberry, Mango, and Blueberry smoothie. We stayed there for over one hour and spent a nice time.
