i highly recommend everyone go to vincent !! i had pretty short hair that i was trying to transition out of a bob, and i thought adding some texture with a wavy digital perm would be perfect. i lived in seoul for one year and previously only trusted korean hair artists, but after comparing vincent’s work to other korean hair stylists in NYC, i decided to give him a chance. i reached out on insta in broken chinese haha (but he always speaks english) with a few inspo pictures and he was very responsive.

when i showed up, he had already prepared all the different size hair rollers he needed to deliver my vision. i was very impressed by his professionalism, delicate touch, and friendly personality. overall, i felt he was such a very 細心 (conscientious) person that i was in the best hands!! i have SUPER thick hair and he was so patient throughout the whole process even when it proved more time consuming than expected to get all the hair into rollers.

tbh, i was a bit nervous about how things might turn out since from his insta portfolio i saw he mainly worked with men’s hair. i was so shocked to see the end result was EVEN BETTER than i had ever imagined. 3 months later, i can say getting this perm has been a huge game changer. it looks perfect after i just wash it and air dry it with some product. it’s one of those “high maintenance to be low maintenance” things that will pay themselves back very quickly. vincent even sent me tutorial videos explaining aftercare and styling as well as the link to a product he thought would be helpful for me. this just goes show how thoughtful and invested in his clients he is.

Dyno, right? If you can't cut hair, you should leave the job to everyone else.

I watched you confidently botch my hair despite me telling you "you'd done enough", and then justify your awful skills by telling me it was a 'hair texture' problem. This is a Chinese hair salon right? Straight hair is the norm — If you struggle so badly to cut a straight line into straight hair, you might need a new job!

I considered not writing this review, but your refusal to own up to your skill issue and apologize is unacceptable. You had an opportunity to say sorry to me, and honestly, I would have let it go. People make mistakes, but letting everybody else take the fall for you and apologize (not even on your behalf!) is shameful. That is not just a 'mistake,' but a character issue.

You understand English perfectly fine, heard everything I said in there, and couldn't even look at me...

It's a pity because everyone else at this salon is great and very talented, but I'll accept that I cannot come back to this salon if that's the consequence of saying the truth about you online. It's worth it to me.

This is a warning to all the girls out there. Don't let Dyno cut your hair unless you want to leave miserable and go...

Dyno, in particular, is a standout. He’s incredibly skilled with the scissors and really takes the time to understand the look you’re going for. Whether you’re coming in for a simple trim or a full transformation, Dyno delivers consistently clean, stylish cuts that look sharp from every angle.

What I appreciate most is that Dyno doesn't rush the process he pays close attention to detail and checks in throughout the cut to make sure everything is on point. It’s clear he takes pride in his work, and that confidence translates into every cut he does.
