This place made me really sad, I was so excited to come here after seeing so many cute photos. I ordered my food with my partner and they got their sandwich within 20 minutes. However, they didn’t mention on the menu what was really in the sandwich because it had mustard along with other things that weren’t mentioned. Then, after my partner finished their sandwich after trying to pick out all of the mustard seeds, our remaining order still hadn’t come out. We decided to wait another 20~ish minutes before trying to bring it up to a worker. I went up to the register to ask about any updates on my order since only one thing came out and it had already been past an hour. Upon doing so, the person at the register rolled their eyes and sighed and told me “we are really busy, just keep waiting”. I glanced over to the side to see plates upon plates of food and mugs of hot drinks just sitting out while workers just stood around while nobody tried to run the food. When I finally got my order (which was wrong but I was starving already) it was colder than the weather outside (a chilly 30 degrees)!! Honestly, for the price and experience it just was not worth even going to. There are a ton of places in NYC that have the same ambiance but with friendlier service. I feel like there was no reason that people who ordered the same thing as me but 40 minutes after my order should receive theirs first. It’s like they were just making random menu items and handing it out to whichever order they saw first. I left very upset that I spent $50+ on a subpar meal with below horrible service. I really wanted to love this place but it kinda...
Read moreCame here during a brunch and matcha craving, and it was surprisingly pack for 2pm on a Saturday. Lovely place with an outdoor patio seating area. As we came, we simply scanned the QR code and ordered on our phones, and the food would be brought to us.
We ordered the chicken quesadilla (crunchy, flavorful and the chicken was well seasoned and moist), brioche french toast (filling, refreshing fruit, a combination of tangy sweet and creamy), and maple bacon & egg waffle (a hearty meal for those that love their protein; my brother added roasted tomatoes on his for the added juiciness). All of which was really good and flavorful. No complaints there.
What I was really excited about was the matcha hot chocolate. Of all the matcha creations, this was one I never heard of. I ordered the matcha hot chocolate with soy milk. Highly recommend! The matcha masks the rich chocolate flavor and the soy milk made it more creamier, and also brings out both flavors of the matcha and chocolate than regular milk. My brother ordered the matcha bomb (which is a combination of both matcha and espresso, so double the caffeine). This is also a highly recommended drink, as my brother was pretty much wired the rest of the day.
With regards to the atmosphere, I would say this is definitely a places college students would hang out and study. It does get pretty busy here, so I would suggest coming early.
I would say this places would be considered average Manhattan prices (around $15 a meal), but they have really good drinks, a friendly staff, and very...
Read moreLong bench table. High bar side table. Backyard too cold to seat. I feel comfortable here to meet and chat with friends.
There are varies kind of people here. From working professional, students, tourist and waiting for friends, we all gather here for a delicious coffee to a quick bite. the long bench has enough space for around 10 ppl but they are usually packed. I estimate guest usually stay around a hour and table usually becomes available after 10 to 15 minutes. There are about 4 long benches. Front has a couch area but always has someone in there. I have to come back to see their backyard.
I was hesitant to try their food as I want a full meal. We did order a pasta and it was so good. Pasta with a bit of bacon can go a long way. There is a long menu of dishes and I am sure they are all delicious. Serving with real bowl and fork, I was blown away. Beside that, they have mostly coffee and tea.
This is mostly self served cafe. You pick up your food at the counter when called upon. After you finish or before you leave, bring your dishes to the same counter. Clean up after...
