The best coaching and staff approach to fitness is here, in my experience. I’ve been “crossfitting” for 10+ years and during that time I’ve been a member of 4 different gyms with similar small group training, and this one is the best, most complete, most flexible approach. It’s very chill (but as intense as you can handle if you seek it out from coaches and members).
Crossfit, as it was known years ago, has evolved, and this gym has not been shy about adding their own, better approach and philosophy to make the training more impactful and inclusive. It’s varied, it’s flexible, and it’s mindful of maintenance and everyday pressures. Ask any of the staff about tips for nutrition or flexibility or lifestyle- you name it - and they are happy to offer guidance. But nothing is pushed down members’ throats. And it’s fun - events, etc. are planned throughout the year if that’s your thing.
A word about the space: it’s very big by NYC standards with plenty of space to do your own thing. And there are lockers and (private) showers.

The programming is exquisite: Whether you've never done CrossFit before or you're an elite athlete, you'll progress rapidly with these workouts.
And the coaches really deeply care about you as an individual. Same thing as the programming: If you're new, you will get tons of personal feedback to ensure you stay safe and learn the fundamentals of CrossFit. If you're a veteran, the many corrections you'll receive each class will take you to the next level of ability.
All of that said, the community is what really makes Oculus fitness special. Every single person is engaged, friendly, supportive, and fun. Every visit to the gym is the best part of my day — filled with smiles and laughter.
