Since I moved in, I have not had the best experience and I have heard lots of negative things from other residents that I wish I knew before selecting this building to live in. If you are looking to move here, these are some things you should probably consider.
Safety issues: They let anyone up to your apartment. I’ve had people come to visit for the first time, both male and female and every time they just send them up without even calling me to confirm. Anybody can walk in and say they are here to see you and the door man will let them go up to your apartment. It’s a big safety issue because imagine a stalker having direct access to you. I’ve had a sit down meeting a few months ago with someone in the management office about these safety concerns and absolutely nothing has changed. My guests even noticed and was shocked that this is happening at a “luxury building”
Elevator issues: The elevator is always down and people keep getting stuck in it and I was one of them. Very scary! Sometimes the floor numbers won’t work and the elevator will take you all the way down to the lobby in order for it to work and bring you to your floor. I’ve had to get off at a random floor and take 20 flights of stairs. Wait time is sometimes really long.
Package issues: The people in the package room are nice but they often make mistakes. They have given me other people’s packages that I end up having to bring back down. They always miss packages and I have to go back down and ask them to look for it.
Noise Issues: I’ve been experiencing constant knocking sounds in my apartment since moving in. It happens throughout the night and sometimes during the day. It has been very difficult to get good night sleep in this apartment and it’s so disturbing when you’re trying to do things during the day. I’ve tried wearing earplugs with no success. I’ve submitted complaints about this several times but the building manager and maintenance team have been inefficient, incompetent and unable to figure out the issue and resolve it. I’ve been told to call them when the noise is happening on several occasions and every time I call and request the manager to come and hear it so he can understand what it is, nobody shows up. When they did eventually show up, it was obviously at a random time in the day when it was not occurring and then I’d be to told to call them again and the same thing will happen, a no show. I’ve had to go to someone else’s apartment in the building just so I could sleep, that’s how disturbing it has been for me. Only one person seemed to care and came up right away when I called to check out the noise, but he is a doorman and the manager got really upset when he found out that the doorman came to help me.
Three months of me going back and forth with these people and none of them have resolved the issue. It took them 3 months to finally open the wall after calling, emailing, talking to them in person, submitting maintenance requests through their app about this issue, and only after I requested them to open the wall and look back there. Eventually they told me the sound is from a “mechanical component in the building” and they sent someone to patch back up a 12”x16” hole in the bottom of a wall as a way to “soundproof” the entire wall. This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard and it is such a poor way to fix this issue. How can “soundproofing” a small area on a wall result in an entire apartment being sound proofed from a noise that is coming from a mechanical component in the building? Makes absolutely no sense. As you can imagine, this did not fix the issue and I am still experiencing the same problem.
After all of this, the only option they have given me is to transfer to a smaller apartment 35 floors lower that cost MORE than my current rent. They claim that they do not have any available units like mine, yet so many units with my exact layout became available and rented during this time and they never gave me the option to switch to one. They refuse to cover any moving costs or provide any...
Read moreAfter touring the apartment 41A, the leasing agent Manuel was insisting that I submit the application right at his office because "there was another person that was on her way back to the hotel to submit an application for the same apartment". Per Manuel, she decided to rent the apartment while I was checking the amenities of 19 Dutch. That was such a desperate move and overall an uncomfortable experience. Needless to say, I submitted an application 2 days later and the apartment was still available.
While I was submitting an application, I’ve sent Manuel 3 emails. Two days later when I asked about the status of my application, he told me he hadn't received any of my emails. I then sent him screenshots of the emails on text. He didn't respond to them either.
The application website was lagging (and still is). I couldn't edit my application or submit new docs. When I click the link sent by Manuel, it returns with a 404 error. I haven’t been able to access my application since the day I submitted it.
I've submitted my SSN. I have an excellent credit. I've submitted my bank accounts with a total assets amount of over $1 mln. Plus, an employment letter ($240k per year). All these documents were not enough for Manuel. He asked me to submit a full bank statements where you could see the source of incoming deposits as well as my spending habits.
After that Manuel told me that we are past the 72 hour window of submitting an application, so I have to hurry. His previous email literally says “Please excuse the delay as we have been out of the office due to the holiday”. When I replied that the delay was on his side, he wrote “I am not aware of any delays on our side since we have been very clear on what is needed in the email you received on 11/20 with the subject line "Thank You For Touring!"
Overall, I really liked the apartment complex and apartment 41A. However, my experience with Manuel has been horrible. His attitude and lack of work ethic has been the only reason I decided not to proceed with the...
Read moreI have been living here for four years and the first two and a half years would be five stars while the last 1.5 year has been a difficult one for me. The management changed from Greystar to Bozzuto in the last 1.5 years and my experienced changed night and day. I have experienced several problems with the management of this building that has been taking a toll on my mental health. I feel like I'm treated like their enemy instead of a valued customer that has been living in the building for the last 4 years. One of the doorman in the building has lost my dry cleaning (including dress pants and expensive shirts) and it took more than a month of going back and forth with the management to convince them to reimburse me. They made me feel like I was lying about the brand of the items that was lost which was unacceptable. My second issue is that I pay twice the electricity of a normal 1 bedroom. This has been going on for 6 months (through summer and winter) and I tried reaching out to the company who bills for electricity but they just told me that my kwh was high with no additional help. I requested to management that the submeters in the building be checked but I feel like the management is just not paying any attention to this issue. As I said before, I'm a good standing resident of this building for 4 years and its a shame that I get treated poorly like this. If you are considering moving to this building, please consider that the management is very difficult to deal with which ruins the experience of living in a "luxury...
